Ok I got around to using the free bottle of 4* I recieved. Here is the review of it.
I stripped off the AIO/SG that was on it to make it a fair test of the product. I left the wheels to get dirty for 2 weeks prior to using this product. The wheel have a lot of brake dust built up in this time frame.
The bottle is the standard bottle you would expect to get a wheel cleaner in.
It does have the cool car on the front and standard directions on the back.
"...spray on let sit 30 seconds..agitate with brush..."
When I first sprayed it my first thought was "nice yellow color"
Smells good too, not like many solvanty wheel cleaners.
I started with the back wheels and gave them a little spray of water towet them down a little. Sprayed on the cleaner and let it sit for about 30 seconds. I agitated with my wheel brush and it foamed up right away.
The wheels came clean with very little effort and scrubbing.
The front wheels where extremely dirty with a lot of brake dust on them.
I did the same process as the rear wheels. It got most of the grunge off in the first agitate and rinse cycle, a few spots needed to be hit again (i could have missed these spots with the brush though).
On the inside of the rims I needed to get out the A2Z. the 4* removed most of the stuff but could not remove everything. (this stuff has been built up since mid July)
a few pros and cons:
Pros:
Gel type formula (my personal favorite) stays where you want it for how long you want it.
Smells good
Cleans wheels that are moderatly taken care of very well.
Cons:
Not strong enough to get the really nasty built up stuff off with ease
That is about the only con I can think of from this one time use. Although I think if I let it dwell there for a little longer it would have and maybe some more scrubbing. But I dislike cleaning wheels and the less time I spend on them the better
Overall I think it is a good product that lives up to the 4* name of being great, reliable products.
