4 Star Compound for SS paints

Haven't posted for a while cause I haven't had anything new to post. But I wanted to share my findings regarding my experience using the 4-Star Medium Cut Compound on single stage paint. For those of you that've done enough single stage paint, you know how miserable the stuff is to work with once it starts oxidizing - the biggest problem is that the polish seems to mix with the dead paint, forming a mixture that is extremely difficult to wipe off and leaves the paint looking blothcy...forcing you to buff the car out a second time (bummer when you're not getting paid for a 2-step). However, I've now done three single stage vehicles (all oxidized) using the 4-star med cut and have not had this diffuculty removing the polish - 1-step was all that was necessary, and only very very slight buffer marks remained despite the fact that it was a compound. Worth a try for sure.

Thanks for the heads up. I recently tried their SMR and was pretty impressed so I've been wanting to try MCC. Nice to hear it performs well on single stage paint. I usually like Megs 80 and 83 for SS.

No prob. I've tried the #80, #83, #9 and a host of others like OHC, OP, PO106FF, and more...but all of these were nearly impossible to remove once they mixed with the "dead" leayer of ss paint.
