Try Finesse-It II. I've had good results using this product by hand. Use a foam applicator, a small amount of product & really work it in with medium pressure at first and as the product starts to clear up, ease up on the pressure and keep working it in. Work in small sections at a time (1' x 1') It will still take 2 or 3 applications, but it'll do a good job with light to medium swirls. It takes me an hour or so to do one panel.



Follow this application up with a paint cleanser or your SMR (light pressure) if there is any hazing left-over.



3M SMR all by itself by hand didn't do squat for me either.

Another great choice would be Meguiar's DACP.
 
UGH.... I'm about to give up on the whole removal thing and just settle for fillers, but if that's the case, I have a question or two:



1) How well will either of the following fill moderate-heavy swirls??

- 3M Imperial Hand Glaze

- Klasse All-In-One

- Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze

- Pinnacle Souveran



2) How long will it last before they re-appear??
 
Sorry to throw a wrench in the works here, but #9 does have oils, but it's ok to paint over, because, as someone else posted, it does not contain heavy silicone oils, which would create fish eyes. Also, it is not from the body shop line, it is from the Mirror Glaze line. DACP and the like are from the body shop line.
 
I tried to do it by hand also. After a doing the trunk and half of the hood I gave up. I'll be buying myself a PC for my birthday.
