3M Paint Rejuvenator?

Hi all.

I stopped in at a body shop to show them a scuff in my paint.

The body man came out with a bottle of some sort of 3M "paint rejuvenator" and the scuff disappeared like magic.

Does this stuff work that great or was this just something very minor in the paint and it helped out?

My mom got her door hit on her white Explorer by a red car. It left a good red paint scuff, but no dent. I couldn't scrape it off with my finger nail and it would rub off. So, I simply took a terry cloth and some Scratch-X and went to town on it. The scuff came right out.



Moral of the story... things like scuffs are relatively easy to get off.
 
He just put some on a cloth, rubbed it in and buffed it off with some other cloth.

When I asked him what it was, that's what he told me.

What exactly is a "paint rejuvenator" designed to do?
 
Hopefully it's not just a glaze that filled the scratches and will wash off. After I had body work done once I was complaining about the swirls on the paint and the guy said they could put some more glaze on to fix the swirls. :wall
