3D/HD product questions

I was thinking of going with a few 3D/HD products for the first time but had a few questions:

1. How long does a coat or two coats of POXY generally last? Does it stain trim? How long do you have to let it cure before you can add a second coat..........something like 12 hours maybe?

2. I need a product to maintain/enhance my POXY after a wash. Would the best product to do this be HD Free, HD Touch or 3D Final Touch? Or should I wait for that new product that is coming out called "Express"? Any idea when that will become available?

3. The HD 5.5" foam pads are they 7/8" or 1.25"?

Thanks,

Drew

1. I get 3-4 months out of POXY on garage kept cars. Does not stain trim. I always let it cure overnight before adding a second coat. However, one member has suggested putting down a coat of DG 601 before applying Poxy.

2. I use Touch as a QD and DG Aquawax as a booster. CG Hybrid V7 is said to look amazing on Poxy but I haven't tried it yet. Looking forward to trying the new Express.

3. The HD pads are 1" thick the same as Buff & Shine and Uber pads.

Pwaug Thanks!!

Few more quick questions that come to mind are. is the slickness and beading of Poxy pretty good? My go-to sealant has always been Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 and I love the slickness and know it being 100% synthetic would probably edge out Poxy in durability, but it is not fun to keep using the same stuff all the time so I was thinking of throwing some Poxy into the mix!

The beading and slickness of POXY is very good, but I find it starts to fade in 3-4 months--the Aquawax does help. On dark colors POXY is really deep and wet looking (carnuba look) and it seems to add a richness to lighter colors. Noticed your post on AG where you mention it is for a white car-- I don't have a white car, but I've read allot of posts that DG 105 looks good on white--more of a candied look.

Great responses from Pwuag! HD is in the process of finalizing a spray wax booster that is Montan Wax based and will work great with POXY. It's called HD Express.

Also, I highly recommend applying POXY via DA and a Red foam pad. It's a very dense pad and doesn't allow the product to soak into the pad. This greatly allows you to spread the product ALOT futher. Literally 12 small drops will treat an entire car.

Mr. Fermani,

Do you know about when the HD Express and Car Wash Soap will be available to purchase?

Will HD Express be a mix of Montan Wax / Synthetic Polymers like POXY or will it be all wax based? I take it that Express will maintain the POXY "Look" between applications?

Thanks!

These products are in the final stages of creation. HD will be releasing their entire product line all at one time very soon. Unfortunately, I do not have a date.

HD Express will be Montan Wax based and is a booster for both HD POXY & HD Nitro Seal which are both Montan Wax based as well. Testing via gloss meter has shown great improvements on panels that were not previously treated with a protectant. What this is aimed at doing is improving the gloss after proper polishing AND after sealing with either of the HD protectants. :cooleek:
