3D carpet shampoo rocks!

Every bit as good as BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner and a lot easier to get. Spray, let dwell 30-60 seconds, scrub as needed, wipe up, re-vacuum and done. Even though the dilution is 16:1 vs BioKleens 32:1 it is still very cost effective since it is 2/3rds the price of BioKleen per gallon. Plus I haven't been able to get BioKleen by a single gallon, they want to sell you a full case of 4.

I just got a sample of BioKleen TLC last week. Haven't even had a chance to use it, but this is interesting as well.

Nice discovery Scott. I like this stuff alot too. I can also mix it with 1-2 gallons of water and sponge it on, scrub and vac. Lifts alot of soiling and leaves the fabric looking nice.

I always thought carpet cleaners with optical brighteners weren't the best?

That's interesting? Can you explain why that is?

I remember reading how optical brighteners can cause yellowing over time and that they will cause resoiling easier.

I have had a cart full of 3D products, but didn't add the carpet clean for that reason. If I am wrong, I apologize.

i've not heard that about optical brighteners but hopefully ben can chime in and resolve this. i'll looking to this product in the fall and replace my biokleen with it.

I've been using it several weeks now, even on my own vehicle. Haven't noticed any resoiling problems as of yet.

I just checked, not at Autogeek, and the online places I found it wanted to almost double the price of a 16 oz bottle for shipping... (Maybe not the same issue if buying by gallon? But I'm not doing that.)

Do they sell it in any of the chains, like Autozone?

It's on Amazon for $14.99 a gallon.

At 16:1 dilution ratio - that's one heck of a deal for the weekend detailer.

A good post about optical brighteners and woolite, http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/85192-woolite-problem.html#post862903

Understanding Optical Brighteners - Column - ICS: Cleaning Specialist

From carpet-rug.org

"Care should be used in selecting a detergent. Never use a laundry detergent of any type, because laundry detergents may contain optical brighteners (fluorescent dyes) that dye the fiber."

As DETAILERS, we should take interior detailing just as serious as paint correction and exterior detailing.

I've been looking at the Extractor Shampoo, but haven't pulled the trigger because I'm not a fan of Jasmine Scent. Might have to try out their Carpet Shampoo instead. Have any of you tried both?

As a Woolite user for many years, I think the whole thing about optical brighteners is about as significant as a fart in a whirlwind. Sometimes Woolite & water works better than my enzyme based cleaner or my amazing APC diluted 10:1, and even Dave Fermani's tip - AM EZ Clean HD, why? I don't know, just like every car is a bit different, I refuse to give up something that works because some drip under pressure, ie expert, says so. I've always preferred to believe my own eyes. If Tunch put optical brighteners in this and it works according to Scott, that's ALL I need to know, I'll take a gallon Ben, please be sure to add it to my order along with the Uno v4 and HD Speed.

Golden thread with rock-solid info!! thanks! Just sad the owner didn't reply to the thread, does that mean he agree with the above comment meaning his optical cleaner isnt good?

Hi Guys,

The amount is important when adding optical brighteners. Too much aspirin is bad for health...and I agree so is too much OB.

The amount OB used in 3D carpet shampoo is not like in the god old days when manufacturers used excessive amounts to give blueish look to the white sheets. We feel that OB has very little positive effect to the final feel. It is an inexpensive addition and we do not charge more because it is there. Our cost per use is very economical.

Overall the main quality to look for is how well it will pull-off the dirt and whether it will leave a soapy residue behind or not. I think you will find that 3D Carpet shampoo will clean effectively and will not leave residue behind. A good test is to rub a little in your hand and try to rinse it . You will see that with a little water your hands will feel squeaky clean. If you do the same test with a cheap laundry detergent you may need ton of water to get rid of the slimy soapy feel.
