There is no cure!
im detailing a 1970 383 cuda (isnt it called a baracuda?... on the hood it said 383 cuda). met the owner at the gym and said i could pass by saturday morning and he'd leave it for me the rest of the day. im really excited about this sicne its my first muscle car id etail, but worried about the paint. formt he looks of it, it has some minor swirling and appears to have a clearcoat. now id ont know what typeit is, if itsa lacquer or wha? is there anythign i should be aware of, thin paint, ect. the finsh looked dull, but couldnt really tell if it was oxidation. they guy owns 12 more muscle cars and said i could do em all to add to the portfolio.

by the way. wha would u guys charge? i gave him an estimate of 160 but im thinking of charging by the hour...

Holy crap I love the old Mopars and yes is called the Cuda in the early 60's they were called the Baracuda. I would give him a great deal to seal the deal for the other 12 cars. This guy wouldn't be named Sharky would it???? I met a guy at Fudruckers(sp?) a few years ago who owned nothing but mint and good condition Mopars (4-Superbirds, 2 Challengers, 1 Hemi Roadrunner, etc,ect.).

the guy was awesome. i dont know much about him other than his address and his name. his anme wasnt sharky by the way but it could be his nickname tho.

heres a funny thing,

when he was giving me his number he said
"###-cash"

i asked if his last name was cash, he responded with

"no, thats something that i have a lot of"..
i chuckled for a minute, feeling like a highschool girl whos getting asked out for the prom by the school quaterback.

u still havent said what low price to offer him...

p.s.

although i have practiced a couple times with the makita im still not confident enough to use it on his car, so the detail would be done via pc. i should be able to get it done via pc right? the oxidation if thats what it is, looks pretty dense.

$150 to make that baby sparkle that should make him happy and come back with the others *group price type deal* (also think or the people he knows/hangs out with $$$$). My 72 Plymouth Duster was easy to wash and wax *mind you I wasn't into detailing like I am now* but there are not a lot of small crevices to slow you down most of the body panels are long with some curves. I tell you what I'll be nice enough to let you detail my mustang for free to practice with your pc *EVIL GRIN* lol

tomorrow mornings the detail. gotta wake up and be there by 8am. only question i have is since the paint is laquered, is that a soft typw of paint that marrs and or is easy to polish, or is it a harder like paint , like that of an audi.

set the price at 30 an hour, so i could make him happy and snag the detail for the other 9 cars.
