303 SMELLS!! Alternatives?

Interesting. This seems to support my thoughts that looks does not last as long as protection.

That is, you chose by appearance, smell, application, etc.

I actually chose Optimum Protectant Plus because of the UV protection OPP provides. I would only trust a handful of products to actually provide the claimed UV protection. Of course after UV protection, I would also factor in appearance, smell, ease of application and cost (with appearance being the second most important after UV protection...smell being third..etc)

I remember hearing that some people added a few drops of vanilla extract to alter the "smell". Worth a try on a small portion of your stash. Think I'll do the same.

I usually dilute my 303. So i add a little water and Febreze or other smelly product on a cloth and go to town. Personally just the cloth, keep the 303 bottle full strength for tires and such.

I emailed 303 about my smelly bottle of 303 protectant and they are sending me a new one. Excellent! I didn't ask him if the smelly stuff still does its job correctly though. I have like 25oz of the smelly stuff left that I could probably find an exterior use for. It seems like a waste to throw it away, but if it is really bad (besides smell) then I guess I should toss it.

I like 303 (haven't tried OPP yet), but einszett Vinyl-Rubber Care & Protectant I'm starting to like more and more. I don't use it on my leather, but for it works well for other surfaces, both interior and exterior.

I have a bottle of 303 that I haven't used in a long time - don't care for the smell and really not blown away by it either. I started using Lexol products and prefer them. I guess it will be used on engine detail only.

OK..got some Optimum Protectant and it stinks too. Emailed Bob at Danase. I am guessing it shouldn't smell either...

You must have the old formulation of OPP; some people complained about the smell of the old OPP. The new formulation of OPP smells like leather.
