300m + #21 =

Todd@RUPES

Just a regular guy
This was the second detail I did today, a wash, polish and wax of 300 C. There was some bad swirling on the driverside of the hood that cleaned up with a little buffing.

Process....

Wash with NXT

Clay with Megs Blue Clay, Last Touch as lube

#83/8006 pad on rough areas, via rotary at 1500 rpm

#82/9006 pad on entire car, via rotary at 1100 rpm

Megs Hotshine on the tires

Megs Hyperdressing in the wheel wheels

Megs NXT window cleaner

Sealed with #21 on 9006 pad/PC

After washing with NXT, the surface felt very gritty. About 30 minutes of claying solved this. Here is a picture after half of the trunk...

Here is some of the heavy swirling on the hood. One pass of #83 cleared this up on the rotary. Here it is with the camera flash...

Same area using a Xenon...

Same are using the Xenon (this may have been after the #82 also).

The owner didn't want a full buff, but I decieded to give the car a once of with #82 to lightly polish the surface (as the previous afters with the #83 where noticably darker then those with out) and insure uniformity. Then I applied #21 via PC (I wanted to go with a sealent to allow the flake to pop, even though I'm a carnuba guy at heart)

Afters...

Amazing work. I have been seeing more and more use of the #82 and 83 lately. Makes me want to go buy some.

The Vette does look familiar. Amazing how shiny the Vette looks in the reflection of another car still.

Nice detail and shine but... that's not a 300M

I was about to say the same thing, was kind of hoping to see a nicely detailed 300M. Excellent detail, not thrilled with the chrome B and C pillar add ons though.

Very nice! Clear, wet and swirl free! :)

Love that metallic black Chrysler/Dodge is using, detailed a Charger yesterday with the same color paint.

I think he may have caught that.

His post says 300C. :werd:

Gee thanks for pointing that out Sherlock. I kind of go by the titles when I go to read the post. Just pointing out the error, sheesh. :werd: to you

Fantastic job! I wish more detailers had such pride in the finished product.

Those wheels make me feel bad for the car. I sincerely wish soccer moms would stop watching Pimp My Ride.

whats

#83/8006 pad on rough areas, via rotary at 1500 rpm

#82/9006 pad on entire car, via rotary at 1100 rpm

??? what brand is #82/83 ?? im pretty new to these things.... i really don't know much of the terms but i know the rpm and that stuff.... common sesne....

Meguiars products

8006 is a polishing pad and 9006 is a finishing pad.

83= Meguairs dual action cleaner polish

82= Megauirs swirl free polish

Nice work :)

btw

I have one question that I wanted to ask a long time before, why does the clay get so dirty?

Is it beacuse no one uses a tar and glue remover or a proper TFR(trafic film remover)? I use this on all cars I polish and my clays picks up little to no contamitations.

Maybee beacuse the VOC regulations no one uses this products?

Sorry for the off-topic
