3 year old Trailblazer

This is a picture poor click and brag, but hopefully the process description might be helpful to someone.

My favorite of my 5 sisters has been asking me to make her car "glossy, like yours" for a while and I finally got time to drive up to the Richmond area to visit and detail. I left home Saturday at 6 AM in below freezing weather and arrived at my sister's house at a little after nine. I unfortunately left my camera and my brother in law pulled his bass boat out of the garage at about 10 am taking their camera with him. So much for the before pictures.

The 3 year old Trailblazer is parked outside (bass boat gets the garage :) ) and to the best of my knowledge has never been waxed. We started the detail at 10 in the garage and it was colder than a witch's t*t.

Process:

washed: ONR - paint, wheels, wheel wells

clayed- Tons of bonded contaminants, pretty much destroyed a bar of clay. We kept the clay in a bowl of warm water to keep pliable.

polished- HTHC (Hi Temp Heavy Correction) with Cyclo and Cyclo orange pads.

sealed- Two coats of Optimum Sealant 30 minutes apart.

waxed- One coat of IW 845 using PC and LC grey pad.

trim- Poorboy's Trim Restore (two coats, absorbed the first)

wheels- ONR, clayed, Klasse AIO, IW 845

wheel wells- Stoner's More Shine, Less Time

tires- Poorboy's Bright and Bold (took two coats, sucked up the first)

glass- Stoner's Invisible Glass

tail lights and headlights- PlastX

Sister wanted to learn to detail so she dryed, clayed, dressed the trim and applied the two coats of OS and the IW 845. She caught on to the OS application using a Meguiars foam pad and left very few streaks. I was most impressed by the HTHC which removed the fine swirls and several small scratches. The hood had some fine linear scratches which may have been from snow removal that did not come out.

The car is a dark gray which looked almost black after polishing.

Brother in law took these when he returned with the bass boat. If I can I will try to get more pictures. Sister was very happy with the results. Thanks J.J. for the inspiration to use IW 845 over OS. :thx
