3 days into my annual leave and I have detailed 3 of our cars (the last 2 with the help of my dad).
I started with my s2000. It is in (non metallic) berlina black, 2 years old, 13,000km and always garaged. Process was Gold class, 3M Clay, #9 on the doors and #80 on the fenders, bonnet and boot, SEPC, WG Paint Sealant and finally PS.
There are some more photos in my gallery.
Originally I intended to do SEPC then PS. However, for a joke (I didn't think it would work) I thought I would try some WG Paint Sealant over the SEPC. It worked well and the WG went on and off very easily. Alternated between #9 and #80 because the doors didnt have very many swirls. Porbably not the best strategy and will stick with #80 next time all round. I am working #80 alot more and consequently find it very easy to use.
Not 100% happy with the finish ( I was very tired as I removed the PS and there is a little smearing). I have some VM on the way so a mini detail is in order in the next month or so.
Next up is my brother's FTO - metallic black, 7 yrs old, 67,000kms. Paint is in good condition with a few small scratches / chips. Process was Gold class, 3M Clay, #80, PB Pro Polish and PS.
Pretty happy with the results. I prefer SEPC on black but wanted to experiment with PB Pro Polish. Even after working it on thin I still find it hard (lot harder than SEPC but not as hard as #80) to remove.
Finally my dad's Rav 4, Blue Metallic, 7yrs old, 100,000km daily driver. This car has had a hardish life with lots of outside living, ferrying kayaks down to the beach etc. Paint is good for its age but with lots of little battle sacrs. Process was Gold class, 3M Clay, #80 and WG Paint Sealant.
Very happy with the results. The car looks 100 times better and it was amazing that the finish came up this good with a 2 step polish / sealant process.
Sorry for the long post, I got a little overexcited! One more car to go before I go back to work. A metallic silver E Class.
