Hey everyone! Of course its not as good as Barry Theal famous blue Mercedes paint restoration, :) (sup Barry! u inspired me a lot! thanks.) and a lot of you guys did projects that had worser conditions turned into mirror like finish than this, but check it out maybe you will like it!

I haven't posted for a while since that virus but here you go, its a yearly 90's accord with 170 something thousand miles. I think it was repainted at some point of its life.

The detail was for my cousin for exchange for some minor mechanic work on my bmw.

2 stage on roof, trunk lid and hood. rotary makita. solo1 wool pad with power gloss, IPA wipe down, then super finish on white pad

The rest of the car received 1 stage with DA (super intensive on orange pad). came out really well maybe about 85-90% correction.

Metal grill received polish by hand with microfiber towels and Mothers mag&aluminum polish.

Sealed with black fire on blue pad and Griots DA.x 1 coat.

This is how the car came to me.

yeah the paint was lifeless, it even had this oil stain :sosad

the metal was so dull and ugly!

Time to take off licence plates, sprinklers.

so much dirt was hiding behind the license plate!

Now it was time for a good wash

C&G wash and clear+ other stripping chemical doing its thing.

everything needs attention here.

claying...

The surgery begins... test were done and the best was solo cutting pad and powergloss compound.

couple 50/50's

Half of roof is done!!! am sooo happy! this is what detailing is all about, u see results after hard work!

Moving to the hood..

The doors, quoters of the car had a bad repaint job with lots of orange peel. But this is the best reflection pic.

Finishing down, protecting plastic with 303 protectant.

Finished pics!

And the money shot $$

Hope you guys enjoyed it! My cousin is really happy! he couldnt believe his eyes, I ofcourse had not never seen him so happy, except the time when he got his first gf! lol jk.

sacdetailing- Wow, that's some transformationn all right :xyxthumbs That's also the only time I can recall somebody taking pics under those gas station lights!

I just love beater-car details :D

I bet he was thrilled with how it turned out, heh heh, hope you got plenty of work done in exchange!

Lol i love beater details too! so challenging!, yeah i havent seen anybody doing that too.

yeah he fixed my car pretty good. :dance am driving now!

Quite amazing, that may only be 90% correction but it's a 90020202% improvement. I have an old Subaru in the same condition that I've been putting off for a year, this may motivate me a bit.

Always enjoy seeing the turn arounds possible on single-stage paint. Glad the owner is happy and it looks like a long day of work!

Wow theres reflection in the paint now! Great turn around indeed, I agree with Marc ^ that looked like a long days work! Time to sit back and just look at it while enjoying a cold one, to me thats always the best paint of detailing.....admiring your own work.

That's where I always find out I missed a spot, good place for that final inspection. If Brinkmann starts making them we'll probably all end up with 'em in our garages!

Hmmm.... that'd make it a bit better than a 100% correction wouldn't it?

TL <--- digging out my abacus to do the math on that one
