'29 Ford Model A Roadster: Detailing Nirvana

Wow, that was quite the write-up and quite the detail ! I'm not even sure that counts as a "detail" anymore, but I don't know what else to call it. It doesn't get any more Autopian than that, I'm sure that's even cleaner and better protected than "rolled-off-the-factory". And so many days to do it in, with an owner willing to fork out the cash, that's the best part. Being seriously time-pressured is the worst. AMAZING turn out !

I take that as a good thing. Thanks for the kind words and for taking a look at a very large project of ours.

Wow Marc, that's just outrageous! Are those med tag bracelets you're wearing?

Thank you :) Your question is answered by the next post

I think those are fallen comrades bracelets. He wears them in honor of fallen soldiers.

I had chills the whole time I read this. That is awesome work. You raised the bar even higher with that one. I totally know what you are talking about with getting the check but the opportunity and pure joy of it make it worth it. I love detailing cars. I've learned so much from your threads.

I finally have a question. When you dressed the front wheels, did you dress the inboard side of the wheels also. Normally you can't see them but with this style of vehicle it was right there.

Tim

Thank you Tim for the clarification to a question by a fellow autopian as well as for the kind comments. The inside of the tires were also dressed as well as the standard outside. Because of the nature of this car, we felt it'd be important to leave no stone unturned. One of the great things about dressing tires is that it allows for a much more even and consistent color of the rubber which makes it look that much more appealing to anyone that might notice.

Holy Cow!!! What an awesome work product and write up. So when will the roadster win best in class :)?

I don't know when the owner is taking it to the next show, but I'm certainly hopeful it'll do well. It has certainly done well in the past and I'd like to think that our labor has surely improved the appearance.

Fan-fuggin-tastic detail men... awesome write up too!! Looks like you guys had fun with that one! 5 stars from me!

How's things going Jesse? Thanks for your continued support and I look forward to your next write-up: no doubt it'll be another stunning car with entertaining words to go along as usual :)

Sick work there Gents... Well done!

Very much so Jason. Thanks a lot for the kind remarks and I plan on giving you a ring much sooner than later. Hope you're enjoying your 4th and I'll be in touch!

This is the BEST OF THE BEST of the best....

I got no words, awesomeee!!!

You must buy a ferrari already for the money for this detail. or atleast an m5 lol

best thread on autopia.

Wow, thanks. Autopia is home to some of the best threads ever and while we poured a lot of work and energy into the car, write-up, and presentation, what's best is certainly in the eyes of the beholder. I'll at least say it's our best thread :)

I wish this allowed for the purchase of an M5, but if anyone is getting rich from detailing - it certainly isn't me!

They say the great ones always have that "One" that stands out and puts them over the edge.. Guys this is your "One" by far. I usually don't even bother with the long write ups. They always tend to be more filler than anything but I couldn't stop reading through this one until it was done. You guys had me hooked from start to finish here. The attention to details and the awesome photo's really put this one away. Absolutely one of the best write ups I've ever had the pleasure of seeing...:bow:bow:bow:bow

Jake, thanks a lot man. Good to hear from you as always and I hope you're continuing to do well in SC. As always, we appreciate guys taking the time from their day to read our threads (especially one that is so long) and this is no exception. Thank you!

It was nice to be able to basically dedicate a week to this project - made it a lot easier to not only work, but to properly document a lot of the changes we helped to bring about.

This is easily one of, if not the best detail, write-ups, and informative threads I've ever seen on here. GREAT work fellas! Talk about raising the bar higher - this is it!

Marc, you know I've been waiting on this one since last year!! I'm so glad you guys finally posted this up, and I'm glad you were able to perform the work on the car. This goes to show just what kind of level you and Jacob are performing your work at. This is an incredible detail, and an incredible post. I didn't think you could top your other posts, but this one is through the roof!!! Congrats guys, truly, truly deserved
