28yr old single stage black brought to life.

Factory paint, right? Not reshot with Imron or something like that....

i was told that paint was original.. it looked old enough to be.. Definitely single stage.. the truck only has 26k orig miles.. one owner for 27years. And again.... just the hood was difficult. But I wet sanded the whole truck just to give it extra pop.

Yeah, I'm curious as well as to what grit you used. I just picked up some wet sanding paper, and cant wait try it out. I got 1500 grit and 2000.

DAvid703- Huh..well I guess it'll remain a mystery... who knows, maybe the hood was reshot way back when; parts of my Jag and RX-7 were repainted before they got to the dealers.

Whose paper did you use?

David703- I somehow guessed you used 3M. Interesting that it finished out so nicely with combos that didn't work on the initial marring.

Also interesting that it still had the orangepeel visible in your other pics after you wetsanded, I shudder to think how it looked *before* the wetsanding. You know how I am about aggressive correction on old original paint, but this time I think it was the right choice.

Heh heh, seeing that UniGrit comment, I bet you were prepared for my broken-record lecture ;)

This has me thinking back....I have a old, maybe-incorrect, recollection that Ford used enamel for their single stage  Wetsanding enamel can be risky which is why it came to mind, good to know that this isn't one of the fragile ones.
