2016 Griot`s Garage SEMA Products

My post was just a comment that I don`t see any innovation from Griots. I have not used their iron/fallout remover, but what does it do better than McKees, Iron-X, Britemax, Gyeon, et al? Then I see what CarPro brings out, that`s innovation, new products that do new things for detailers. I`m not a Griots hater or a hater of ANY manufacturer, I just like to see new and exciting products. If Griots lowers the overall price of fallout removers that`s great, but if it does the same thing for the same price who cares?

Forgot to add that Griot`s decon gel works slightly different in how it looks, smells works etc.............. than the current offerings on the market. But since you have not used the Griot`s product and have not used other iron removing/decon products how can you say it does the same thing for the same price?.

Ya I just disagreed with your analogy:

By this logic Ford should never make another model because Chevy already has a similar product.

To me, Rlmccarty2000 just said "It`s great that Ford is giving us more choices, which should push the market to lower prices, but where are the new and innovative vehicles? I`ve already got a truck from Chevy that does the same thing and has the same features as the new Ford truck."

The thread "Boss so here it is" last year has your posts of #24 & # 39 right out of the gate showing bias then and this thread showing bias now. You mention four product companies in the quote above and I cannot find ANYwhere you mentioning a disparaging comment that those companies when they released their iron removing product which by your own admission you do not use iron removing products so the question is if Griot`s chooses to bring out their versions of like performing products this get`s you worked up why?.

Two months ago in this thread (http://www.autopia.org/forums/griot-s-garage/185899-gg6-vs-boss-g15.html#post2074894) Rlmccarty2000 says that the Griot`s Garage 6 inch polisher is great at spreading wax and paint correction (post #3). I checked his posting history and couldn`t find any evidence of significant bias against any company.

This is good information. The more details we have for this product, the better. Any idea on the pricing?

This is a welcomed addition seeing as Meguiar`s discontinued their 3" microfiber pads

Griots Garage 3 inch BOSS Foam and Microfiber Pads

I really love those pads - can`t wait to pick those up

Vega are we really having this conversation?, clear example of bias established before and now. As for pricing on the Griot`s decon gel how would I know? it was released at SEMA this week and as I do not work for Griot`s I am not "In the loop" on pricing.

Glad you brought up the GG6 as almost every detailer alive has one or has had one, which only points out the bias as this machine is made in China as well and Rlmcarty didn`t bang that product(But others did on the Boss 21 release thread) which is the root of his bias along with the fact he feels(And is his right btw) that Griot`s only copies established products on the market but gives a pass to other companies who do the same thing eg: established bias.

Angus no surprise you would stick up for your buddy(As I do for Richie Carbone) only difference is that I do not have a biased dishonest agenda....................

What can I say, there is a really good group of people on this site. And I have no problem defending a fellow member who has not proven themselves to be nefarious on the given topic.

Professionals like yourself and Richie Carbone have a world of knowledge that I`d love to learn more from. Unfortunately is seems that knowledge is delivered in under terse exchanges that only lead to arguments and forum bannings. These sort of situation don`t help anyone out.

I am way taller than you on my soapbox lol.

Ha! Yeah you probably are!! Just do us all a favor and put the bullhorn down - ok? ;)

I took Rlmccarty2000 as a jab at Griot`s as well but I`ve come to expect it with him after the BOSS launch and chose to ignored it. Clearly the BOSS line has lived up to the "hype" and I`m confident the new products will as well.

Lake Country also has a new line of microfiber pads including 3.25" microfiber cutting and finishing pads coming soon. So lots of choices soon!

Yeah, I have them now and I`m not sure I like them. The foam is more dense and doesn`t contour as well as the Megs or BOSS pads. They did cut well, likely due to the stiffer foam, but the MF material seems to get matted down more quickly then my BOSS pads. I need to play around with them some more though as I`ve only used them on 2 cars.

The 3" pads are a VERY welcome addition, especially with Megs dropping out of the game.

I just heard on The Auto Detailing Podcast that Buff and Shine is going to announce some 1", 2", and 3" Uro-Tec pads and a new microfiber pad.

(I`m sorry to see these personal finger-pointing posts. Let a person have bias and express it. If you believe a person has in invalid opinion on a topic, simply ignore that person`s posts on that topic. It`s essential to read selectively on the Information Superhighway.)

Good to know! I haven`t used any microfiber pads yet so recommendations from a pro like yourself are useful. Thank you.

Looks like business as usual.

A bunch of products that have been available from competitors for years.

I think I bought my LC 3" BP for my GG6 in like 2006 - originally for a PC.

I knew you would come in and add something and I am right yet once again, thread dies down as Chad echo`s my sentiment and you were also one of the "three amigo`s" on the Boss launch thread with silly biased posts.

When will you guys learn?, even though most of you are allowed to roll out your comments as "Opinion" when I pin ears back yet once again I will be "The problem". So a bunch of products that have been available for years really bothers you? really....................

I expose the lying bias yet again as by assertions made any company that dares to offer a product offends you(Not really true as we all know but only Griot`s is attacked over and over again) and with the absurd comments you only drive people to try Griot`s products because anyone who reads this stuff knows the difference between what guys say that actually use the products as opposed to a small group of "Enthusiast detailers" who do not rely on detailing for their income trying for selfish reasons to hurt a company and it has not worked at all btw.

Vega if you clip this post just remember you work for a company who retails Griot`s products so if the disparaging comments are left up and mine are "Edited" yet again then we all know the motivation here.

This is why you hardly see any good content anymore, why would the top guys want to participate in this stuff?.

Regulars here know that I`m not likely to buy the Griot`s Iron Remover (seldom need such stuff, already have/am familiar with "B").

BUT...I like that they offer it, even if it doesn`t bring anything new to the table. When already ordering from GG, it`s convenient when they have *whatever* detailing product I need: take advantage of a promotion; attain a shipping-charge threshold; just scratch a "try something different"-itch. Zero downside, a few potential upsides- net positive.

Not sure how I missed these before but I`m looking forward to these new PFM Detailing Towels too.

Speaking of innovation from Griots...

It would be hard not to praise ALL of their PFM microfiber towels as not being a new and innovative improvement in microfiber towel technology. These are great towels that nobody else has duplicated yet.

What`s new about the PFMs other than the color?

I do like the lightet color, the regular gray is simply too dark for me to feel comfortable with as a Drying Towel, too hard to see minute contamination. (Yeah, I know..."a true Autopian would have the car so clean that the Drying Towel never gets dirty!" )

The size is new. They are 16x9 so you only have to fold them once. Griots says it keeps the towel from bunching up like a 16 x16 folded twice. Looks pretty cool.

I love my PFM`s. Might have to give these a go.
