2015 Audi A6

My name is Mike
Hi all. Been away for a while with last year's frequent rains and garage renovation (will be in a separate post - once I figure out how to add pics). Did this yesterday: a coworker's new-ish 2015 Audi A6 in Mythos Black metallic. The dealer had been pretty hard on it - swirls & holograms. DISO at its finest.

Started with the tires (Turtle Wax Jet Black Wheel Cleaner (?!) and Megs APC) & wheels (CG Sticky Gel Citrus Wheel Cleaner). Stripped the paint by foaming with a mix of CG Citrus Wash and OPC. Rinsed and then foamed again with Carpro IronX Snow Foam and washed with CG Citrus Wash Clear. Attacked the bonded contaminants with SM Arnold Clay Towel + Nanoskin Glide. Now that I could see the paint, the swirling, holograms and RIDS were exposed. Took a couple of compound/polish/pad combos before I found the "right" one: Megs M100 (and later D300 when I ran out of M100 - why oh why didn't I get Autopia Connect when it was on sale? ;)) on Megs Cutting MF pads followed by Megs M205 on a LC Green Polishing foam pad. Griot's BOSS G21 and the RUPES twins (21 & 15) did the leveling. Cleaned the polishing residue off with a couple of passes of Griot's PreWax Cleaner and then locked it in with DP Paint Coating. Tires got Turtle Wax Jet Black Tire Coating (?!).

As mentioned above, I need to relearn how to insert pics but it looks like inserting videos is still the same.

Ignore the title, it is an A6 not an A5. Idiot.

Beautiful Job

Mike,
Just perfect, clear, glossy, results !!!
You killed it again !!

I love Audi paint - its hard and can take a beating and still come out beautiful - like you did it here ..
Thanks for all that hard work -
Dan F

Thanks Ron. Thinking of sticking with videos for a while. In many ways, easier to do than embedding pics in the thread - assuming I ever get that working.

Uploading the pics for those who don't want to sit through the video.
