2012 Ford F150 King Ranch. Tuxedo Black
I had a client bring me his F150 after he returned from his annual hunting trip to Montana.
He uses the truck to run mountain trails while hunting. These trails are sometimes a ‘little’ narrow and lined with brush/trees/scratch-inducing media (!!), as you will see in the defects pictures of my write-up.
I find Ford paint pretty soft and easy to correct. I was happy for this on this ‘detail’!
Process:
Waterless wash-UWW.
Clay: Medium nano.
Flex 3401, Rupes 21 MKII, Griot’s 6”.
Pads: Tuf Buff wool, Griots fast cut MF, hybrid medium polishing foam pad, black Meg’s wax pad.
Compound: Griot’s Fast Correcting Cream.
Polish: Adam’s Finishing Polish.
LSP: Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection.
Tire dressing: Blackfire Total Eclipse Tire Gel.
Glass: Adam’s Glass Cleaner.
Trim/running boards/etc: Four Star vinyl protectant.
End result: The majority of the scuffs, abrasions, scratches, swirls, etc, were removed. The heavier scratches were knocked down, however, some grit (sanding) would have been necessary to remove anything additional. The passenger side front door had some very severe/deep scratches that I don’t even feel that sanding would have removed.
The truck looks 100X better than when received and my client is happy…until next year’s trip!
Enjoy the pics!
The whole vehicle looked like this. Not one panel was missed!!
