Hooked For Life
I just got back from the 2011 Lake Mirror Classic! It’s a huge car extravaganza! Basically, all of downtown Lakeland, FL goes Car Crazy! The boats are never too shabby either! Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

I especially had Brad B in mind when I took the following two photos. A rather rare BMW 2002:

Wow, what a great venue. And the caliber of cars is impressive. I don't know much about boats but I can see that Chris Craft is a work of art!

When I was a kid my grandpa had an Amphicar. He drove (sailed?) it in Lake Michigan. Talk about getting looks!

Thanks for getting a pic of the BMW Touring. Very rare indeed! And pretty cool in a boxy sort of way!

Brad, I immediately thought of you when I saw that car! It was rather impressive. Everything on it looked fully restored/highly detailed.

Every year there is a boat show right on the lake and the Amphicars take a dip but this year I didn't stick around long enough to watch.

Thanks!

It sure looks like a first class event. I keep looking at the pics and drooling. :)

It really is a treat. For any car nut who'd like to visit Florida in the Fall, this is the event to attend!

My pleasure! Check in with me again in March when I'll tons of pics from the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance!

Drool! That's one event that is on my 'bucket list'!

Thanks for those beautiful photos. At present, I have no money and no time to travel. But i will ready for it in one or two years.

It is a pity that i can not take part in this huge car extravaganza. Your photos i have saved to my photograph album on m computer.

Luckily my client picks up my business travel bill so I'm able to treat myself to some car shows. I'll probably have new photos in March.

Hey, I'm late to this party! Cool pix Bill, looks like it was a great show with something for everybody. Some of those are really nice pieces!

... I liked the Grey Poupon on the dash of the Rolls.

Heh heh, I, OTOH, think that it, and that console-mounted aftermarket stereo, are [insert derogatory term here] :nono: That's the kind of car I'd want to rescue and give a proper home.

That particular car and others were on the auction block that day. I regret not being able to stay to watch it. I agree about the RR, I'd keep it all original in the interior, as I do with my Caddy. I was able to get a correct replacement radio for it and fortunately it was easy enough for me to install.

Loved the pic of the Amphicar! One of my late Uncles owned one (his was white), he took me fishing on Shellcamp Lake in New Hampshire using the car!

PS: that 1920's vintage Aherns Fox fire pumper was sweet!
