2011 Jaguar XFR

mjlinane

My name is Mike
A coworker's father's - the owner claimed it was blue (Spectrum Blue Metallic, I guess) but it looked nothing but black metallic to me. Paint was on the softish side but a joy to work with.

Arrived looking OK but a little dirty. After the foaming with CG CW + OPC, rinseless washing with CG Hose Free EcoWash and "claying" with the Nanoskin Autoskin Fine Pad (GG6 speed 2.5 with Nanoskin Glide), here was the true condition of the paint.

Another hybrid job (coworker didn't tell her father how long this was going to take). Showy places: Flex 3401 + LC Hybrid White + Menz Power Finish (203) & finish polished with GG6 + LC CCS White + Menz Super Finish (106fa). Other places: GG6 + LC CCS White + Menz Power Finish. Some spot compounding of RIDS with PC + Megs Cutting MF + M105/D300 combo. Result was better than 95% correction.

(Sorry for the blur - rapidly losing light.)

Afters, unfortunately no sun (for more than one reason - it was 28F when I started yesterday morning and only got into the mid-50s):

Spectacular work on a spectacular car. Both you and the owner should be beaming with pride.

Nice job. That's not a bad looking car. My co-worker cleans his '12 GTI with WAX! I gave him a bottle of UWW+ and a microfiber and told him what to do. A month later, he is still using wax.

Actually it was on the soft side but finished extremely well. Loved working on it.

This is absolutely a beautiful, perfect, job !!!
Your attention to Detail is spot on !
I love Jaguar paint, if done correctly, it looks -- well, it looks like what you just did !
Thanks for sharing - that is really a nice color done right.
