Whoa.

And I appreciate how you covered up the car to do the fabric top. Good stuff

Thank you!

CQuartz Fabric on the convertible top works great! However, it can be a little tricky to work with.
Any overspray that gets on the paint can be "gummy" and a little bit of a pain to remove.
I learned this from a previous convertible top I did. I had to go back around and get the "gummy" off.
IMHO It took less time to cover the paint than the time it took to remove any CQ Fabric overspray.

NOTE: RaggTopp Fabric Convertible Top Cleaner & Protectant Kit is much easier to use. (Incl w/detail - Approx. 30 min)

The reason I chose CQuartz Fabric is...longevity and crazy hydrophobicity (and yes it does darken the top slightly - 2-3 hours)
I did two layers. The first one I rubbed in with a microfiber wax applicator. When it dried I did a second light spray and blend/rub.
The results last almost a year. It looks great and beads water like crazy. Due to the time and prep...this is an a-la-carte option.

It`s ironic when you coat the top you cover the car...when you polish the car you cover the top (grin).

Nice work as usual Mike! That 911 now looks as it should! The owner will be proud to drive it around!

Thank you for your kind words. It was a swirled mess.
It`s great to watch the owner fall in love with his car all over again.
It`s a stick and makes driving fun!

Thank you. For all the issues and challenges, it turned out really nice.
I do miss Ron. I hope he`s looking down and smiling in the reflection.
He is! I think in the "Merlin photo" some of the clouds seem to look like him holding a detailing brush. Or maybe it is a fork. Yeah, probably and more likely a fork. But it is him.
(OK, Captain Obvious, you didn`t take your medication this morning, did you! OR maybe you "substituted" something else. Hummm, just sayin`!!!.....)

Oh yeah, REALLY nice detailing work on the 911. Man, you use a lot of that red CarPro tape. The paper sheet and tape covering prep prior to the CQuartz Fabric application is outstanding and shows what great lengths you needed to go to after learning from your earlier "school of hard knocks" experience with this fabric protectant. Thanks for sharing that info!!!

I think of Ron often and he will never be forgotten.

Thank you for you kind words.
Yes, IMHO the tape is a lot less expensive than having to replace a part. It takes a little time but it`s worth it!
The paper covering roll, on the body for the convertible top, costs about $5-$10 and it`s well worth the price.
It sure beats trying to remove the "gummy" CQuartz Fabric over spray. Don`t let CQuartz Fabric dry on the paint.
Once done it`s awesome on the convertible top.
