2009 Jaguar XF Correction - TLC Auto Detail

Hey everyone. I wanted to start off apologizing for the iPhone pics on this write up. We forgot to bring the Nikon with us, but still wanted to take some before and after pictures of this vehicle since there was such a drastic improvement.

We were contacted by the owner of a moving company to spruce up his Jaguar since he just bought it used and it needed some TLC. When we got there we started by washing and decontaminating the exterior so we could really see what we were dealing with. After the normal wash and clay procedure we checked the paint under the warehouse lights as well as with our LED lights. What we saw was not good.

First up were the swirls and RIDS...they were everywhere!

It was honestly tough to even tell what color this vehicle was since there were so many swirls. On top of that there were some deeper marks to deal with.

Also, it looks like another detailer had tried to remove some scratches since the roof was covered in holograms. You can kind of see them in this shot, but it was tough to capture them on the iPhone.

We wanted to make as much of an improvement as possible with the one step that the vehicle was booked for. After some testing we went with the combination of Menzerna SIP on a light blue LC Hybrid pad on the Rupes 21. There were a few areas that required the use of a smaller machine, so we corrected those areas with SIP on a yellow BS pad via the Meguiars DA.

Here is how it looked after we were finished. There are a couple RIDS left here and there, but considering the state of the paint to being with, we and the customer were very pleased.

This was the roof, where those deeper scrapes were. We ended up doing some heavy correction here first, followed by the second step to get them totally removed.

We cleaned the glass with MEguiars Glass Cleaner, dressed the tires with Car Pro PERL, dressed the wheel wells with Meguiars Hyperdressing, polished the chrome with Collinite Metal Wax, and sealed the paint with 4 Star paint Sealant.

The front wheels unfortunately were beyond saving. The were never cleaned and someone let what looks like wheel acid sit on them for too long and they are stained and the brake dust is baked in. We did the best we could with Iron X spray and gel, but couldn't get them perfect.

We are very happy with how much this vehicle was corrected, and actually have scheduled the customer's other vehicle, a 2006 XKR for next week.

anyway, thanks for looking and we look forward to your feedback!

Thanks, we were very happy with the correction for just a one step!
turned out very nice.
Thanks Steve!
Great save, I really like that color on the Jag. The correction really allowes the flake to "pop".
Thanks, I love this color as well, it's almost black in the shadows, and then it has tons of flake in the sun.
