2008 Honda Accord Coupe (Black and Swirly)

Exactly Scottwax, wash and clay.

while owning my last vehicle I had a terrible overspray problemfrom work. So every week when I washed and rinsed, I would make new soap mix and then clay magic it. Could never get the overspray off the plastic trim that well.

I used clay magic because it was locally available and IMO better than the mothers.

Well I traded that problem and got this new job so the overspray problem is at a bare minimum now.

ADDED:

Do not use soap mixture with Mothers Yellow clay. Gets real messy kind like the clay they use making them spun pots. Like in the movie ghosts! Slimy, gushy, slippery and messy.

Hey Scott,

I guess I am not the only one that used and liked the Slick Stuff QD. I liked it until I used the FI which is a lot easier to use. I think the Slick takes a little more time to apply and remove - maybe the wax in it? Love the smell though...

When I first started my detailing business, I was using Wax Shop Products. No white residue with Super Glaze, and it is easy to use. Durability sucks, though. I switched to Meguiars Mirror Glaze then to Body Shop Professional products once I found a local distributer. I agree FI is better than Slick Stuff-but that doesn't mean SS is bad, just not as good.

So my friend bought an 08 Accord Coupe from a dealer and had it delivered. He said it had some swirls and wanted it polished. Its only got 14K miles on it, so I figured an easy job.

Got it home, after an ONR wash (it was raining) I discovered this miss:

So I started using the following:
Blackfire Poly Clay with Megs Last Touch
LC Cyan with M105
LC Orange with M105
LC Black with M205

Then after an ONR bath (still raining) used Autoglym HD for the LSP and got this:

Took about 11 hours total, 8 hours polishing, 3 doing washes, wheels and waxing. All in all turned out pretty good.

That is one of the nicest looking affordable sporty cars on the road. Great lines.

Really nice Job.
Another m105 - m205 magic show!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys, my hands are hurting today, but I am finishing up the interior on my neighbor's Ford Escape and polishing tomorrow, so no rest for now (though I'm going to spread the polishing out over the week).

Wish I could have got some outdoor shots, but it was pouring rain all weekend (hence the exclusive use of ONR to wash, that stuff is great).

Rasky, I agree with the Blue comment, I love these cars in the blue, but I haven't found too many that think so. Same color almost as an 03 Acura TL I had, great color.

Great job, Indy. Let me ask. Why the orange/105 combo after the cyan/105? Did you see something after the cyan/105 that the orange/105 cleaned up? I'm still learning with 105 trying different things myself.

I used the Orange M105 after the cyan namely because I only had 3 cyan pads and they were clogged after I was done one pass (need to get more, those things rock). So I moved to the orange to clean up the remaining swirls (car needed 2 complete passes), then to the Black and M205 to bring up the shine.

I've had the AGHD on my truck for about a month, stuff is awesome. Great relfections and it last really good, looks as good now as it did a month ago. Only thing is I have to apply by hand (it's in a little tub, too hard to get on a pad).

Ahh, gotcha, thanks for the clarification. Again, beautiful correction work.
