2008 Black Yukon Denali paint healing

Bryan,

Thanks for the quick reply to my questions ! :)

I dont blame you for getting another 7 Series - those cars are awesome!
Until you have to work on them, then the payment is - well its also awesome for the repair shop ! :):):)
I work with a BMW repair shop here, doing detailing for their customer's cars, and just started trading detailing work for their expert work on our Bimmers - thank goodness for that.

Best,
Dan F

Dan, Thats why I pretty much do all of my own maintance. They are not that hard to work on at all. With the help of a friend I just replaced all of the suspension on the 740.

This is our 3rd BMW, we have had:

93 740il bought with 92k and sold at 150k spent about $2000 in maint
94 540i bought with 98k and sold at 145k spent about $2500 in maint (complete suspension replacement)
99 740il bought w/ 50k now at 125k. Have spent about $3k in maint so far.

So 180k miles and $7500 between all 3.

When we where looking at different 7s back for our first BMW, the salesperson told me to expect to spend $1500/yr in maintance. I started laughing and said I do my own maintance, so I will just be paying for parts. She said these cars are very hard to work on. I laughed even harder and told her I can work on $150M aircraft, these can't be that hard.

Great job, are you using the R series surbuf pads? Also how many surbuf pads do you use per vehicle and how do you clean them? Amazing turn around and thank you for sharing!!!

Thanks! Yes the R series in a 7" 6.5" should work fine too.

On a smaller car like this I like to have 4 on hand. You will notice the pad getting "over run" with M105 after 3-4 sections. Brush the pad and then blow compressed air across it to remove the excess M105. This cleaning process is very dusty.

Excellent work!

Soft or hard paint?

Thank you! 1-10, I'd say a 6.5.

:thumbup::thumbup:Beautiful work Bryan!:clap::Dancing Dot:

Black is such a satisfying color to work on... makes for some dramatic turn arounds and this is definitely one of them. Thank you posting this!!:)

Awesome work as ALWAYS... the sheer size of these trucks becomes more evident than ever when you work on one!!

Like Todd said, I am tired from just looking at the thread..

The owner sure did luck out to be able to have you work your magic!

Great paint renovation as always, would have liked to see the interior (perhaps next time) The Dyson vacuums are awesome (British Engineering at its best) he is one of the richest men in the world. In 2008, it was estimated that his work was over ?1 billion

Thanks for the info and one last question, where is the best place to buy these pads? PAC needs to add one more company to their long list of products and stock these!!!
