2007 Fall Detailing Blitz

Once a year I take a week of vacation so that I can detail solid and get a bunch of my regulars in shape for winter. These are the fruits of my labors this year. All told there were 14 cars detailed, but these are the only pictures that turned out. Some had to be taken with my camera phone since Jennifer needed the real camera a couple times. Sorry for some of the shade pictures. Lighting was an issue for some of them, so I figured I'd just get the shot to document it. :)

These were also detailed, but I didn't get pictures. These are from the detail before.

There were a couple big trucks that I didn't get pictures of and a couple SUVs. By the time I got done with them I was so tired that picture taking was the last thing on my mind. lol All I can say is that with arthritis in both knees I now know that this is not a job I could do full time. At just over $2300 for the week I sure wish I could do it full time, but I know that physically I couldn't do it. This was a really really really long week and I'm glad it is over and I can go back to my nice office job next week. lol It was a ton of fun to do this and get it out of my system though. :) I highly recommend it to anyone who can take a week of vacation in the fall and really hit it hard.

Well, it definitely looks like you've been a busy man this week. Nice work on them all!

Some how I am attracted by the black cars. The Chrysler 300 is a particularly good picture in my opinion.

I certainly understand how detailing takes a toll on the body. Anyone that does that kind of quality detailing for a living has my admiration and respect. As do you.

WOW...14 cars detailed in a week. Thats 2 a day. No wonder your exhausted. The pics and the cars look fantastic....:bow

Awesome job !!! Cars look showroom. Love the wheels on the AMG ML. You are obviously a wheel cleaning nut like myself. I would eat of the inside of those wheels.

Is that last Benz AMG a 63?

I am drooling all over my keyboard !!!

Yup. Dang nice car. He estimates it at 748 horsepower after all his mods. He just got it back from Platinum Motorsports in LA after he got back from the Player's Run. They did a little painting and lowering and whatnot on it. Here are some pictures that he took after I detailed it. My camera phone had a smudge on the lens and all the pics from that day came out looking like crap.

I do have to say that after having all that chrome painted I like it a lot better. Those headlights need to be blacked out though. The chrome housings are just way too much contrast for the way the rest of the car looks. I'd love to see him pop those open and have the housings painted.

I had just gotten an order from Danase.com, so most of the products used were from there. I used their Swirl Abolisher II as the main swirl remover. Applied with a blue Edge 2000 pad I found it to be a very very effective polish and clearing up the swirls on these cars. Then on the light colors I used the Acrylic Paint Sealant and on the darker ones I used Wet Glaze. They are both synthetic products and should have good durability. I advised them all to call me mid winter when the weather warms up a little bit so I can get either a coat of wax or another layer of what I used initially on the car to make sure it sees them through the winter, so we'll see how many of them call me. I know the guy with the Range and Mercedes will call me. He has been very good at keeping up with me and his cars. Hopefully I'll see the Bimmers and Subie as well. They seemed very interested in continuing the car care that we started. The 300 is a garage queen in the winter, so that one won't be a problem, and the Acura guy has already placed an order for the Wet Glaze so that he can maintain the shine on his own. I think everything will work out and if nothing else I hope to learn more about the durability and longitivity of the products I used. They sure looked awesome, that's for sure.
