2007 F430 Spyder

I did this detail sometime back in October, but never got around to posting it. Ive been pretty busy and as business picks up, I spend less and less time here on Autopia.

This customer contacted me after seeing my work on FerrariChat and we set up a detail for his play car (F430). He also had an E60 M5, but his lease was ending the next week and he didnt see a reason to spend the $$ detailing it only to hand it back to the dealership.

I started off with the Ferrari and finished the day with the X5:

Ferrari had 160 miles and the owner chose not to have it heavy polished (not to mention it had LOTS of clearbra). My process was as follows:

1) Mothers Gold Wash

2) Dry with Pak Shak WW towels

3) Wheels cleaned with PB Spray and Rinse (Diluted 50:50)

4) NO Tire Shine whatsoever was to be applied per owners request.

5) Engine wiped down (though owner chose not to have it detailed)

6) Blue Magic Metal Polish on the Muffler Body.

7) All ClearBra polished with Plexus (including rear plastic window)

8) Paint hit with RMG followed by Souveran as LSP

9) Convertible top cleaned with Raggtop cleaner

10) Interior Vacuumed and cleaned with Sonus Cockpit Detailer

11) Windows cleaned with NXT Glass Cleaner

12) Engine Cover polished (BAD waterspots) with Einzinett Glass Polish

I think thats about it. I didnt take any before pictures as the car really didnt look so bad...just dusty and I didnt notice the bonnet spots until I began drying. On to the afters:

I also did his Wife's X5 in the back of the last picture...Ill save that for another thread to be posted shortly. :spot

Thanks for looking!

P.S. If you want Hi-Res images, please remove the ".sized" from the picture URLs

Nice looking car, great job.

Thanks!

This is one of those details you post not to showcase polishing skill, but more just the beauty of the subject. I definitely think the RMG and Souveran together added ALOT to the looks..but its not as if this car was really "work". :cooleek:

Wow...beautiful work.

Be sure to post this over on 6 Speed :grinno: (with permission of course)

Im just waiting for Moe to respond to my post. :bigups

That said, I made the post here with the intention of copying and pasting to 6-speed. Phil is in my area (and a good friend of mine) and he has no problem with me posting and potentially stealing his business...why Moe would is beyond me.

Awesome car, awesome finish. I noticed the M5 in the last pic too or maybe it's a 550i

thats an m5... read the post

ne ways, great job!

It is in fact an M5. His wife had an X5 4.8is (which I detailed) and he had the M5 and 430. He was talking about picking up the new Alfa Romeo when it comes out (8C), which I would LOVE to detail.

BEAUTIFUL CAR!!!!!! I LOVE IT! Did you get to drive it anywhere?

Great work!

Thanks. The owner went out for the day and offerred to leave the keys with me (should I need to move the car) but I declined as I didnt even want him thinking the car had moved without him present. We had to push it in and out of the garage as his kids were sleeping nearby and the car truly is THAT loud!

At the end of the day the owner took the car out with a friend and he let me take some camera phone video...like all v8 Ferraris it walks that beautiful line between sounding like its out of tune and just sounding AWESOME!

That thing is SICK! Dripping wet red! I'm also a sucker for red stitching .

As was I. That deviated stitching was beautiful. Congrats on your new car...I saw your post where you linked to the new aquisition.

I have always wondered what it would feel like to detail (and perhaps own) 1 of those! Maybe 1 day they both will happen! I know someone in roanoke with a white 360 but im not sure that he wants it detailed by anyone other then the detailer that takes care of it now.

No one (that I know of) starts by detailing Ferrari cars. You start small. I started by detailing older BMWs. I did LOTS of BMWs and VWs only to slowly progress to Porsches. Ive now done LOTS of Porsches. Now I find myself finally where I want to be as I get more and more exotic business (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc).

Congrats man! You seem like you deserve this after all your hard work. I am pretty solidly starting off with hondas and things like that... not even BMWs much... but i do do a few porsches because ive been in the porsche club since 0 and they are all great friends of mine.

only 1 problem with doing a lot of exotics... there are probably tops 15 in roanoke.

I went to school in Lexington (Washington and Lee) and know your plight...my M3 was something of an exotic in Lex!

Ill be moving to Richmond next month and am a little worried about finding upscale clientele...we shall see.

A few months ago i had to visit VMI, my dad was selling the general or something a suit and i can testify to that!

Roanoke is a little better then Lexington (hell... a LOT better) but is still not the best place for high end sports cars and exotics. Richmond is a lot better. I might be able to get you ben Wallis'es cars, if you are nice  ... a freind of mine lives right next to the short pump mall... and ben wallis is his neighbor. O and my friend has a 911 4/s... maybe the could be a potential client also... PM me when you get there with your phone number and ile try to hook you up.
