Excellent job and excellent pics!

What camera do you have?

Thanks!

The camera is a Nikon D70. It still takes great pictures, but I am considering upgrading to the Nikon D300.

Very nice car!

What are the numbers on that car? Horsepower, torque, etc?

It has a 4 banger in it, with a blower. It is rated at 220 HP, but the 2008 models have 240 HP with the same motor, they just upped the boost. Apparently Lotus is going to offer a ECU flash upgrade for the 07's to give them 240 HP as well.

The car only weighs 2000 pounds (to put that into perspective, it is about 500 pounds lighter than a Mazda Miata). So even with that somewhat modest HP number, it still does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds.

Not that the car is about going fast in a straight line. She hungers for the curves! :brit

The D300 is an absolute BEAST! Fantastic camera.

4.1?!?! Wow! I knew that car was light, but holy cow! If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'm going to demand a ride. Haha! Very nice car, Rob.

In the famous words of Lotus founder Colin Chapman: "Add Lightness"!

Reducing weight helps every aspect of a sports cars performance. Braking. Handling. Acceleration. Fun! ;)

beautiful car, beautiful work, only question is that your daily driver?

Nope, my daily driver is a Mazda Protege 5. A few pics can be seen in this post on SIP and 106FF: http://www.autopia.org/forum/detailing-product-discussion/100295-menzerna-sip-106ff-holy-grail.html

The Lotus wouldn't make a very good daily driver in terms of comfort. As the guy from Top Gear (a British Auto TV show) said:

"In a great handling sports car, you can feel it when you run over a bug. In a Lotus, you can tell how many legs it had"!

:chuckle:

Rob,

The Lotus looks AWESOME. Such a cool little car. Think I could fit in it at 6'3? :D

Thanks!

My best friend is 6'2" and he drove it without a problem in terms of head room. The width of the seats is another issue entirely! ;)

I think you would still be ok at 6'3" in terms of headroom, but it would be close.

That is just such a beautiful car. Looks like liquid silver, and ready for a Cocours show it's so well detailed.

Top notch, Rob, that car is a *stunner*.

Thanks Supe, and I always appreciate the help that you provide here!

Absolutely fantastic! I love the exige..so menacing with go kart handling. Just a crap load of fun!

Ah, someone who is definitely familiar with the Exige. The most used description by owners is "as close as you can get to a street legal go-kart". As someone who used to race Shifter Karts, this is a huge compliment. :up

Hey Rob, are there any twisties that are out there for a good drive? When I was last down there, I didn't remember any near by... except for maybe Rancho Cucamonga or Ontario.

You are definitely on the right path with Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga. Temecula also has some very nice twisty roads. Riverside itself, not so much.

Glendora Ridge Mountain Road is incredibly twisty

Used to drive my 95 RX-7 on that road. Not for the faint of heart!

The road from Temecula to Julian is an awesome drive, and Julian isn't a bad destination for lunch or something like that either.

Rob you ever go to Cars and Coffee? I know it is far but I head out there every Saturday morning anyway.

One of these weekends when the wife and I don't have the kids with us, I would love to do the Temecula - Julian drive. My wife loves towns like Julian!

I haven't done the Cars and Coffee yet, but I need to. From what I understand there are usually at least a few Lotuses (Loti?) there.
