2006 Scion tC issues.. Need Some Rec's

I have a 2006 tC which is Nautica Blue. This car only has 6k on it and is 6 months old. Yet I have a good bit of spider marks and prizim hologram swirls. I am going to do a in depth detail job with a PC. I am looking to find out what the best products to use will be. Hoping you guys can help.

Should I go with:

Poorboys

Menzerna

or

Optimum



Will also post pics of the cars paint quality tomorrow during the day to show the damage if this will help.

Neothin keeps his right, I agree on asking him.



Be careful, with your color especially. As Neothin warned me (my g/f has a NB Scion tC as well) the paint scratches and mars easily. You have to perfect your washing techniques to keep it in good shape and may have to resort to using products with fillers to hide imperfections instead of removing them all of the time.



The product line that you choose really doesn't matter. Just be certain that you start very light with the product abrasiveness and move up if you have to. You may find that most of the imperfections you are looking to remove can be taken care of with a light polishing pad and light polish.

I have used all the above Polishes and found on my Gf's TC (Silver) the Optimum polishes has a "slight" edge over the Menzerna, almost neck and neck. When I say this, this is in regards to the TC finish/clearcoat.
 
twich thanks for the info. I agree the tc's paint is soft. And improving my washing tec is going to keep it nice. I want to do this polish to get the marks out and getting it close to glass as possible. Then keeping it that way ongoing.

This is my game plan, and someone please correct me if I am making a mistake.

1. wash

2. clay

3. wash

4. poorpoy SSR2.5 w/ RC orange Lake cutting pad

5. poorpoy SSR1 w/ RC white Lake polishing pad

6. sonus detail spray to remove dust w/ buffing towel

7. poorboy EX sealent w/ RC gray Lake finishing pad

8. poorboy Natty's Blue wax w/ buffing towel

Thanks I will update that in the game plan. That is a big help. I want to make sure that this is done right.

Not so sure about that. If your white pad is cutting and your orange pad is polishing... technically, you should only use the cutting pad if you can't get those out with SSR 2.5 and a polishing pad. With SSR 1, you should definitely use a polishing pad. :2thumbs:
 
The poorboys will look excellent on your vehicle. I would use a polishing pad with the 2.5 and if it doesnt cut it (literaly) jump up to the light cut pad. You will want to use a polishing pad for the ssr1.

Yea that was written incorrectly. I was going to use orange (cutting) with the SSR2.5 and white (polishing) with the SSR1.



But like both you and serval others have suggested I am going to use a white (polishing) pad for both SSR2.5 and SSR1. I will only go with the orange with the SSR2.5 if it does come out with the white.

I have read a lot of people complaining about Scion's paint, but I haven't had any problems with my Xb.
