2006 Honda Accord Sedan: staro0989

I agree with Bret, looks MUCH MUCH better. Nice job.

Furthering Bret's points, if you get a chance to try Meg's 105 you'll see substantial correction that you can always refine with 205. Being that it was Honda paint it looks like it responded nicely to the 205 correction. 105 just gives you that extra punch for some of the harder stuff. Came out looking great though and I bet sis was thrilled (that's the payoff).

Nicely done. It's hard to get white to shine but it looks like you did a good job.

About the taped off areas, you'll need to do them by hand once you remove the tape. That or tape more accurately with narrower tape (3/4") and buff right to edge.

I'd recommend using a more aggressive polish than M205. That polish is like a 4 on a 1-10 scale. You can use M105 with an orange pad with the UDM, then follow up with the M205 on a softer black pad.

All that finish protection is kind of a waste. You need one or two decent LSP's and a detail spray and that's it. DG 501 and 105 are pretty much the same thing, DG 601 is a bonding agent (for what, 101?). Pick either of the 5's products and ditch the rest. Keep the Aquawax. Maybe pick up a good carnauba paste wax if you want another LSP product.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the advice! I guess I will have to do it by hand then another time unfortunately and use a narrower tape when I detail again. I actually used a 1 in tape before on my car and it worked fine, I was thinking the 1.5 in tape would be good for the rubber and plastic areas but sure wasn't that great for the painted areas. DG 501 and DG 105 are actually not the same, DG 501 has more cleaning properties and less durability, and the DG 105 has less cleaning properties and more durability. The bonding agent works well with 105 even though it was for 101. Either way thanks for the great info and I will keep trying to improve. Maybe next time I will spring for BFWD!

Thanks! I actually have M105 but I have been scared to use it. lol Next time I will try it though, I was just afraid to use it on this car as it has single stage paint. She was definitely happy with her Christmas present (I actually bought her two buckets, ONR, Grout sponge, Big Blue Towel, and a grit guard to keep it as clean as possible. lol)

You did a great job. The car looks much better.

Thanks! It was in really bad condition, to the point that the dirt on the paint couldn't be removed with a wash and clay.

Nice work on the Accord! I also like DuraGloss products, especially AquaWax... cheap and good!:Dancing Dot::biggrin:

Thanks! Their products work well for me for right now and make the cars shine very nicely. I didn't get to apply AW as I planned but it looks good either way. :)
