2005 Santa Cruz Blur

My wife was out having out a business dinner, so what better time to spend on detailing my bike for the summer season than now!

It's a 2005 Santa Cruz Blur with the best of the best on it. If you're into mountain bikes, you might recognize some of the bits. A very, very nice bike and it's a shame I don't take better care of it. But when you're taking 4 foot drops, and smashing the bike into whatever crosses your way, well, detailing isn't always on the top of your list!

1) Sprayed down with Lowes Foam Gun w/ Megs Gold Class + PB Bug Squash

2) Washed with Megs Gold Class

3) Derailers / gears washed with P21S Wheel Cleaner

4) Dried with Cobra MF and Ridgid Shop Vac

5) PB Natural Look on tires

6) Sealed with PB EX-P

Here we go, enjoy!

Nice bike! Definitely wasn't cheap based on the components, disc brakes, etc. :)

My road bike is actually dirtier than your bike was. All the rain we've had and the paved path I ride is along the Trinity River so the area has never really dried out. Lots of wet spots on the pavement today.

Info on the foam gun?

I've had it for a few months now, love it. Bought it at Lowes for $10 when I was looking for some other stuff. Good alternative if you don't want to fork over $60 on the Gilmour!

You guys will probably hate me for this...but I gotta make a stupid movie reference.

"You take it off any sweet jumps?"

Sorry, couldn't help it. :chuckle: Seriously though, nice bike. :up And $10 for the foam gun sounds like a great deal, I may look into picking one up.

hell yeah i seen that foam gun too. i wonder if it produces nearly as much foam as a gilmour. is that bike eh sledgehammer?

oh and what camera did you use to capture those shots? they look awesome.

love the bike, components are top notch! Woohoo, mountain bikes are great, i have a thing for hardtails though. that bike is easily over 2k :). Should have dressed the tires.

Try multiplying that amount by 2.5x and you'll be a little closer :p

In regards to dressing the tires, I did with PB Natural Look. Gave it at least a little bit of something...

And all pics were taken with the Rebel XT!

Everything is top notch but come on whats with the pedals?

BINGO! I was waiting for someone to comment on them! I had a nasty fall with my clip-ons not too long ago and lost some of my confidence. Until I gain it back, I'm riding with the slide-ins.

I know, I know...

:chuckle:

God help you...! haha gain that confidence just by doing trials stuff around the yard on grass.. If you fall you will fall into grass.. Dont ride around with those things oh man they are more of a death trap than clip-ins :nono
