2005 Mustang Gt revisited w/Finish Kare products.

03COBRA

I miss my 03 Cobra......
Well there is still no sunlight here in (cough...cough) sunny California. Hopefully soon there will be some sunlight here so I can get you guys some sunny pics of the car.

Recently I was introduced to Finish Kare USA products. I have to say that the FK1 Pink Wax is top notch. You simply apply the stuff and let it sit for about 15 minutes, then buff off with ease. I will be posting an official review of the stuff using Anthony Orosco's method later today. I will also be posting a review of the new Poorboy's car wash! So look for those later!

Mustang: Prior to today Wolfgang Selant/Souveran Combo

Next up, Dad's Taurus. This thing is his company car. Lot's of road trips, lot's of miles. He does wash it by hand at home when I'm not around, I got him away from the free car wash with a $10 gas purchase. I have done a few combos on this thing, but this one is the best so far! Sorry for the ok pics, I had very little light!

PROCESS:

--Wash w/Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds

I didn't think I'd ever say this, but that Taurus looks outstanding!!

As does the Mustang...very very wet :)

I have the FK Sealant...have you tried that?

Thumper: FK is rarely if ever talked about on here. And for me it was a stretch to give them a try because I like the more well known companies. But I had seen some of tdekany's work and he had been using it with good results. So I thought I would give it a try. Glad I did. You would be to.

GSR: I have the sealant on the way.:bigups Have you tried the Pink Wax? You should if you haven't!

Please tell me you are kidding T. Now I really can't wait. Sure would be nice just to have 2 products in the arsenal! You are the reason I tried the Pink Wax in the first place, I will take your word. They have great service as well. I ordered the sealant, and another Pink Wax yesterday morning, and they shipped it yesterday morning!

First time I used this combo - ssr 2.5, #2180 sealant & pink wax

 That truck is partly what made me want to try the FK products. I love that post. When I see you post with the FK products T, I see something that I don't see with other products. It's just different kind of deepness and wt look to the paint. I especially like the black BMW you did!

I had a feeling someone might ask. I was going to make a note, but forgot! She's had her 66 for 34 years, we still have it! She won't get rid of it!!

Don't forget the Poly Spray Wipe (quick detailer). This stuff

is pretty good as well, and leaves a nice wet glossy finish

when it dries. Just a light mist on the panels is all you need.

And then you can just follow up with another spray every time

after you wash and dry. It does have some anti-static qualities,

and helps make the wash easier with each application. This is

without question the slickest sealant type product I have used

so far.

I don't find the Pink Wax offers a lot of long term protection,

in comparison to #16 that is. I think it is more of a showcar

wax than a protection type of wax. Still though, I do like

the way it looks.

One day I am going to do a comparison of all my waxes

(#16, CMW, Natty's, Pink Wax, #26, Bahama Mamma, and

GoldClass) just to see which one looks the best to me.

Hey Scott, I've noticed you are trying a lot of new products these days. Maybe you should give this a try before you settle on your new arsenal!

USDM: I got a small sample of the poly wipe with my order, maybe I will give it a try. It's funny how it is the same color as the Adam's Detail Spray, almost dead on!:nixweiss You say there is not a lot of long term protection, what kind are you seeing, a month or two? Or weeks? Do you know if the Pink Wax has any cleaners? Because I hear that their selant has some pretty good durability. So if I have some durable product underneath, then I don't need to worry!!

Never used Adam's stuff, but I can tell you it also looks and

smells a lot lke a local product called GlipTone Body Gloss.

Body Gloss claims to have Carnuaba in it, Maybe the Poly Spray

wipe does as well? Have to ask about that when I have time.

On the Pink Wax, hard to say really what the durability is.

On my car, I already have about four products on the hood

alone: 218, 2180, 2685, and 425. The 425 (Poly Spray) is

what I am currently using on the paint until about the end

of Febuary (or until I get the hankerin to try something

else :D ). On some of the cars I have used it on, I noticed

the look seemed to fade a a bit after a month or so, but this

was on top of either 218 or 215 (which is an aio type of

sealant). The loss of wet look is slight, but I still noticed

it anyway. So I tend to use the Pink Wax on cars where

the customer wants a wax instead of a sealant, and then

add 425 to help keep up the shine and add extra slickeness.

Otherwise, I just stick to the 218 or 2180, and top with

425 for some extra slickness.

Here's a q&a a pm I got from one of the FK1 reps

that may help answer the question about cleaning properties:

Unlike most paste waxes our pink wax is characteristically

soft and at times a bit wet. These charcteristics are what

makes it an easy on easy off wax as well as a non powdering

wax. Most Mfg will add diatomaceous earth as a binder and

filler to there products. This gives them a nice consistancy in

the can but it also adds to the powdering that occures when

you buff the excess off..........just allow 10-15 minutes prior

to buffing the excess and you are then ready to apply

another coat as you wish. With this product multiple coats

adds depth wetness and helps conceal spider webbing in the paint.

Based on this, I would assume that there are no cleaners

in the wax.

I'm just disappointed there wasn't a "head on" shot of the '05. :( From an exterior viewpoint, THAT is the LOOK that really makes me drool :up

Nice '66 too. It wouldn't hurt a bit to feature that in a product pictoral SOON;)
