2005 Honda Accord V6 Coupe

My car is putting out 240 HP but unfortunately it is has automatic transmission. I know I didn't pay for luxury but what always makes me jump is the exhaust note on the somewhat more luxurious sports cars. My friends drive an Acura TL and a M-series packaged 330ci and when they even put anything on the gas, their exhausts make the growling noise that is very satisfying to my ears. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what parts I could get to get that deep tone out of my exhaust, but not the ricey loud noise. Also, what part should I get to get a better throttle response?

I added a AEM Cold Air Intake to my Accord and it sounds great and far from being ricey. It's deep!!! I think I added 10 more horses but the sound makes it feel fast. I LOVE IT!!! You will not be disappointed.

My brother just picked up a 06 v6 6spd accord coupe tonight, and I got to take it for a spin. I liked driving the car a lot, it is really nice, and I was expecting it to sound nearly identical to the TL but the TL is a little more "racy" sounding. Go to comptechusa.com and check out their parts, they make awesome stuff.

On my 01 CL-S, which is very similar to the accord, I added Comptech headers with changing the exhuast mufflers and the tone changed for the better a little bit....try headers, you get a little more sound and power to boot :)

The Comptech Headers would be a rather large investment. $1300+. I can't seem to find the AEM CAI for my 05' Accord. If anyone knows which store carries it, then please tell me. Any other suggestions?

The best exhaust I have heard on these is the Borla system, makes it sound good! If you do some thorough searching you'll probably find some sound clips. I would also get CAI. Cant get headers though because the stock manifolds are welded on. :( Both my parents have new Accord coupes, mom's is AT stock, dad's is MT with intake (wish exhaust is cheaper because I buy all the performance parts). The intake made a pretty big difference, but since the exhaust is so quite stock its hard to tell a difference in exhaust note. Just getting rid of all the resonators and mufflers would make it quite a bit louder.

pontman, you should check out a thread on acura-tl.com about some prototype headers for the tl/ac v6 04-06 they tested. headers, exhaust, intake netted 265whp, but he had heavy and big wheels on so my guess is they could hit 270 plus. couple that with the comptech s/c for 300+ whp at low boost and the car is pretty sleeperish till you hit the throttle :)

I have a 2000 Accord Coupe V6 automatic. I noticed a slight difference in the mid range. It's nice when I'm on the highway doing 65-70mph and I can just punch it. Here's a video clip that can give you an idea of what it sounds like.

Just do a search on google for AEM CAI. I found a site that sold one for $200+.

Just search for the best deals and coupons. This was the best purchase for my car without dishing out the big bucks. Comptech exhaust sounds great too but it'll cost $600 + or - depending on deals.

I would, but then I would probably start spending money on that and not my car again. lol I will probably buy his in a couple years, then I'll look into that, but it will just get my hopes up now. lol Sounds like some crazy cars though. BTW how did they get the stock manifolds off the Accords?

no clue on how they got them off, it's a 20+ page thread, i just looked at the dyno charts and a few other things.

Im on the CL-Forum on Acurazine and never heard those kinda of numbers with ONLY those mods. Not directing this post towards you and saying you are wrong, but I mean 6-Speed Acura Cl-S with I/H/E can only hope to put down around 230ish whp on a dynojet or dynopack, and that's with the 3.2 V6. Exhaust for the CL-S does jack (catback Comptech may net 3-4 whp) If that person is putting 265whp for real, then I will eat my words! ;) There 265 whp in an 05 accord v6 with 6-speed would probably run mid 13's at the track and I havent heard of any accord doing that with just i/h/e

MrSteve, had an 01 CL-S (Auto) with every bolt on, Comtech Supercharger with HIGH BOOST PULLEY and only put down 295 whp and running a 13.3 at the track. Without the high boost pulley people are only getting around 265 whp or less.

Like I said Im not trying to put anyone down, Im just letting people know that my 2 years on the acurazine forum I havent heard those numbers. Guess setting realistic expectations for people looking to mod their accord or CL.

eat crow now (just joking :)), 264.7whp a few others are 261, 21whp gain from the headers alone. these are third gen tl's, wasn't sure if you were confused. this is 264.7 on ron jon 19's which are pretty frickin heavy (and ugly :))

mmm....my words taste good haha. I was reading through the threads, and something doesnt really add up... Reading and searching through threads the 3rd gen TL dyno numbers are really inconsistent. Most are posting a manual 6-speed putting down 210 range at wheels stock. According to the 264.7 whp posted above he has I/H/E pulley, high flow cats. Hard to believe that the 3.2 honda V6 in the 3rd gen TL is that much more responsive then the same 3.2 V6 in the CL-S. (I know factory rating gives the TL an extra 10hp crank.) Just all seems weird to me that's all.....

Again not directing anything towards you....you posted the link so im enjoying my tastey words :sign lol

And to stay relative to the this actual thread, keep in mind the 3rd gen TL is 3.2 V6 rated 270hp (Crank) and the 05 Accord is a 3.0 V6 rated at 240 (Crank). The 05 Accord is still pretty quick with its hp since its like 200-300 pounds lighter than the TL if im not mistaken.

dandydaniel--- shop around on the forums. On Acurazine I got Comptech headers used for $550. Comptech quality on the headers are second to none imo and well worth the money...Not to mention CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Most dealers (not all) wont even void your warrant out with most Comptech stuff.
