whats up guys, buddy of mine had me detail his mach for him, sorry for no engine pics but its got a built motor, D1, bassani mid lengths, x pipe, borla catback, rear seat delete, upgraded fuel system, etc etc etc...

The car wasnt "too" bad but it needed a little help with the swirls, process was as follows

-Wash with NXT wash soap

-Clay with Pinnacle Poly Clay

-wash

-Yellow cutting pad optimum compound, whole car PC set at 5000

-Orange pad optimum compound (would do this next in bad areas, if not went straight to orange pad with polish) PC set at 5500

-Orange pad with polish PC set at 6000

-White pad with polish set at 6000

-Poorboys EX with caranuba by hand, whole car

-Nattys Blue Paste wax by hand

Interior-Vacuum, carpets scrubbed, mats scrubbed, dash/door panels taken care of with Meguiars trim detail stuff, Meguiars leather cleaner, windex windows, etc

There were still some swirls but nothing another light session couldnt take care of, there is really no way to get rid of all marring but oh well, it looked a lot better

Here are some pics...

Looks like my GT, minus the wheels. Looks very deep and wet though. Black stangs = sexy! Good product list as well. What did you use on the carpets (extractor)?

Very nice job.

thanks guys, car is sweet, definately a 10 second car on a good tire and 60', for the carpets I used good ol turtlewax Powerout :spot

...wish there were a couple engine pics though. ;)

thanks, sorry for no engine pics, maybe I'll take some at a car meet if he pops his hood, one question, after I was done applying the nattys blue, it was so hard to take off even that I ended up using a little bit of quick detail, I'd spray it on and wipe off the wax, is this ok? or does this take too much of the wax off?

sounds like you didnt let it sit long enough, i just started using nb and i did a time lapse experiment and in direct sun 15 minutes definitely wasnt long enough. 30 minutes at least is what id suggest, i dont think the qd you used to remove it comprimised the layer too much but i cant be too sure.

hmm alright, maybe next time I'll apply the nattys before I detail the interior or something, I dont think the quick detail took much of it off anyways, it didnt seem too, and I was VERY i'm pressed with the outcome of the NB on the black, after I did a fender I could ACTUALLY tell the difference between the EX and the NB, it was pretty awesome

if you didnt let the EX set for at least 12hrs, thats why the NB was hard to remove. Poorboy wrote about that on the "other" forum :D.

Great detail though! I love Mach's!

Why not just leave EX on, then next time do Nattys?

I know FMJ you can do like 2-3 coats in one time. We also know about Zaino :chuckle:

good point, maybe I'll just put a thick coat of the EX on the cars who need the car back ASAP then for the other ones I'll tend to leave the ex on for longer and then apply the NB :spot
