Got the pics when it was still light out, then dressed everything up. Also vac the interior, clean everything with APC 1-6 then 303 protectant. EI 20/20 on glass. He is gonna use some leatherique on the seats next w/e.

His wife was very happy.

He then called me to say that it rained on them on the way home. :furious:

Looks fantastic!!:bigups

It sure paid off to go the extra mile with the 3xZ2 and Z8!

It looks super reflective and wet!

Thanks!

The zaino is the easy part. :up

Too bad about the rain - now redoing the protection part will take alot less next time at least.

It better! :lol

What I meant is that the protection that you put on is gone due to rain. The truck is unprotected at this point. FYI

I guess you mean the Z8?

I would still think its protected with the Z2pro. :nixweiss

It needs about 72 hours to cure, so if the rain happend right after you applied it, it is gone as far as I know.

Interesting, first time I have heard of this.

So if he washes it tomorrow, it will not have any "bead" to the water?

Beading - yes or maybe. But the durability of any given synthetic is disturbed and reduced when it gets in contact with water before it is fully cured. Needs reapplying at least one full coat. But Zaino is tough...

sorry but that is absolutely not true.

don't worry your work is not wasted!

It isn't a pissing contest for me, but if you can prove that I am wrong by all means. Lay it out. I am willing to learn.

Owner of the durango drive it home in the rain last night, washed it today with Z7. Then it got rained on again this evening when they went to dinner. He said that after he washed it, it was still very slick and the water beaded up very well.

I finally finished the hood on the BMW. I put one coat of Z5 without ZFX on the hood. Went out to dinner too and heavy rain on the way home. Everything still seems ok to me.

Looks good, those SUV's are a beotch hAHA.

I believe with ZFX all the setting up is done within the 20-30 mins, this is what allows 3x coats in 24 hours.

Probably would get an ultimate layer if it didnt get wet though, but it will last the winter i would think.

The product still needs 72 hours to bond to the surface. No way it will last.

Well you can disagree if you want, i have almost 6 months of outdoor parked accord beading that says otherwise. Process was sonus paintwork cleanser (no clay prior to this), z1, original z2, z6. it rained that night, washed it with nxt, did another coat again, and it rained that night as well. I would have just done them all on one day but i didn't use zfx. still fine.

Very nice job, the paint looks much better. :)

The durability *may* have been compromised somewhat but I doubt the rain would completely wash it away.

Unless it was "acid" rain. :chuckle: Just kidding. All in all, very nice work. It looks great.

With Aloha,

Ranney :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

The durango will make a few trips to Canada just north of the boarder by the spring. So we will see how it looks by then. It also sits outside all the time....
