This customer picked up the car Monday night from a Nissan dealership. He drives by Martin Motorsport to show it off (around 5:30 pm or so) & I happend to be there detailing.

The car looked nice after sunset, but noticed the left front fender had some deep scretches.

2 days later he cals me to look at the car and give an estimate. I show up there and on a sunny day!! :D I asked him to pull the car out of the garage - he claimed that the rest of the car's paint was is good shape. This is what we saw from an angle.

PS: the drivers door had a terrible repaint which I had to point out to him. So now I am waiting to hear from him. Can't wait to hear what the dealership will say. :)

What do you mean?

This is an '02 Carbon M3, which is for all intents and purposes the same as an '04.

Look carefully at the Hood, the color, and the dash. What you posted is not anywhere near close.

Thomas: A few things...

1) Wow! You have your work cut out for you.

2) You say "we"...Do you have someone working for your now or was this "we" the owner and you?

3) What is your plan of attack?

4) How much was the estimate?

Maybe its a 1994 instead of a 2004? The M3 has been around since either 1987 or 1988, the 2001 E46 was not the first M3.

That's what I thought at first, but the dash doesn't match the e36 style. I think lucaszcpm3 is right that it may be an E30.

Its definitely an e30, however im not so sure it is a m3 still. The m3's had little slipstream inserts inbetween the hood and the fenders so it would be better aerodynamically. Yes, I am a fanatic when it comes to bmw e30s :).

That's absolutely horrific. I can't believe dealerships get away with releasing cars looking like that.

They get away with it because people are so happy to get a new (or new to them) car they really don't look them over the way they should.

The original poster says that it's a 2004 (in the title)...I agree that the body lines don't follow an e46 though. On another note, Carbon Black Metallic is an awesome color when done right.
