2004 Audi A4 1.8T Detail

A co-worker drives an Audi as his DD. He lives in an Apartment (young guy) so washing car is difficult and the sprinkler system for the complex sprays on his car leaving terrible water spots!

We have been going to Ft. Worth a few times lately on a project and he usually drives. The car is a lot dirtier that I like, but not as bad as a lot of people. The inside is in need to a good scrub but it is not trashed out. I told him to bring over and I would help him detail it.

This is the first time I have had an adult help me detail. The kids are nice for the father/ son bonding but truly more hindrance than help. Having someone willing to learn and work hard made it so much faster!

Plan of Attack:
Clean the dirty wheels as best we could!
Wash with Poorboy’s World Super Slick & Suds
Polish with Wolfgang Swirl Remover 2.0 using UDM
Wolfgang Glaze
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant
Interior: Scrub down with PB Natural look. Sonax Leather Foam on Seats
Meg’s Glass Cleaner on Windows

The wheels were really nasty. You know those German cars and that brake dust!
Started with ARO + scrub with PB SSS
That got a lot off but still had a lot of caked on brake dust so I opened my brand new bottle of Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect. The Sonax stinks! But seemed to do a good job. Still was not able to get the wheel barrels totally clean.

Next we washed the car then started in with UDM, LC Orange Pad and WG Swirl Remover 2.0. The hood or bonnet had some spots I couldn't get out so I broke out some clay. Yes, I know I should have clayed the whole car.

After the polish I hit the hood with a green pad and WG Glaze. LSP was WG DGS.

Trim got PB Trim Restorer. The front grille looked really good after TR.

I wish I got an after shot of this. Here is before. Every window had some whitish crud in the corner:

I rubbed it with PB APC (diluted 10:1) and then used PB TR. They looked great afterwards!

Interior received a lot of rubbing with PB Natural look. I just bought a can of Sonax Leather Foam so I was eager to try it. I thought it did a really good job cleaning and conditioning the leather seats.

Tires got a coat of PB Bold n Bright. The wheels still were not good enough so I grabbed an MF and my bottle of ClearKote Quik Shine. That left them much better.

A Good day’s work. I was happy with the results and owner is very happy. The Silver paint had a nice glow to it when we were done.

Looks good. I'm sure he was happy with the work you did for him. Now to convince him to keep it up.

Great job! It's funny, I didn't realize it was you. Then saw the fence and garage and immediately knew you were in DFW area.
