Client found me through a web search asking about a detail for his 2003 Mini Cooper S. A light interior cleanup and a 1 step polish of the paint was agreed on.

He mentioned having an office in the same town as my shop so arranging for a dropoff sounded easy enough. By the end of the discussion I learned his office was basically within walking distance of the shop. Being this was a neighbor of mine I wanted to do my best with it

First a foam bath to get things started. Mix of Optimum Power Clean and Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss

all exterior trim was cleaned with OPC and Race Glaze brushes, along with the emblems

Paint was treated with Wolfs Decon gel and after that it still felt very rough. I went at it with Clay Magic blue, and this is after half the hood.

Inspection under LED lights showed the true condition of the paint. I found that it responded well to an LC white pad with Meguiars M205. Keep in mind that full correction is not the goal here but a significant amount of correction was achieved

The roof was painted black, and I found Menzerna SF4000 provided a better finish there

Roof after (RIDS remain and would require compounding to remove)

Paint was protected with Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant. Exterior trim dressed with Ultima Trim & Tire Guard. Tires dressed with Poorboys Bold & Bright

after: in the garage under fluro lighting

Beautiful! You said you foamed it with the combo of soap. Did you then scrub it down and rinse followed by APC?

in the foam gun was OPC and CG citrus wash & gloss. While I was washing I took a spray bottle of OPC at 3:1 and gave a few squirts on the plastic trim. then went all around with the little brushes

and yes the mini does match the garage well! both in size and color.

uhh... did someone say blue?

on saturday - world rally blue in the house x2
