2003 Expedition

Porkanbeans

O RLY?
This is the same truck I did the leather cleaning thread on. You can find that here.

This Expedition already has 74k on it and it showed. The exterior wasn't too bad, but the interior was horrid. So here's the breakdown:

Paint:
-Tar and bug pre-soak with Hi-Temp's Tar and Wax Remover
-Wash with TOL Bubble Bath
-Auto Magic New Car Glaze with Meg's Polishing Pad
-PB's EX-P to seal

Wheels/Tires:
-Clean wheels, tires, and wells with TOL Wheel Wash
-Dress tires and wells with Hi-Temp's Grape Tire Dressing

Interior:
-Water:Woolite 6:1 on everything
-TOL's Deep Down on leather and vinyl (see other thread)
-PB's Natural Look on everything
-Meguiar's Rich Leather Cleaner and Conditioner to condition leather
-NXT Glass Cleaner for glass
-Jambs got EX-P

Pics:

Here is Wheel Wash after dwelling on the wheels and tires for about 30 seconds. Before, the wheels were a lot worse than the pic, and it already broke down that after the dwelling. I hosed the wheels off and all the extra grime came off effortlessly. I really like this stuff.

I noticed that Grape doesn't look like much when looking at the tire straight on:

But when you look at it from an angle, it looks pretty wet:

Nice job as always, white can be a pain in the butt sometimes but you handled it well. I have a recomendation for the grape tire dressing... I usually apply it after the wash, I spray it on the entire wheel then i use an applicator and i spray that down and apply to the wheel evenly, then i do my paint treatment and after i am done with my full paint treatment I apply the grap tire dressing to an applicator and apply evenly then spray em down before you show the car.... it seems after the second coat it really bonds and looks alot wetter.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Reflectin: Thanks for the tip. I tried it out on a detail today. ItCame out really well. :bigups

edschwab:
-HT Tar and Wax Remover is a citrus based cleaner I spray on prior to going over the area with soap. On stubborn spots, I'll follow up with a spray and wipe it down after I dry the car. It works OK. Clay works better.
-TOL Bubble Bath is a great soap. Suds are rich and last a very long time in the bucket and on the car. It's very slick. You can't beat it for the price.
-TOL Wheel Wash is an awesome wheel cleaner. The slightest amount of agitation is required to knock off the crap it breaks down. Works very well.
-Auto Magic's New Car Glaze is an impressive go-to one step or final polish. It's fairly easy to work with, just 3 or 4 passes on PC speed 5 to work it in and buff it off. Comes off with ease if you spritz a little QD on it. It's pretty economical too, I think I paid $24 for a gallon.
-HT Grape Tire Dressing is a petroleum based dressing. It smells like a mixture of gasoline and solvent that was covered up by a grape smell. Consistency is a little thicker than water. There is not a whole lot of gloss with it, but it leaves a dark, rich sheen that looks really good. When you apply it, it looks really really wet and it spreads like crazy over the tire, but don't let it fool you, it dries within 5 seconds. It costs $20 a gallon, not a bad deal. I don't think I'll use it on customer cars though as a glossier dressing is desired by most. I will definitely use it on higher end cars and family vehicles (mine too when I get it). It's more of a Detail City level person's tire dressing.

Thanks again for the replies!
