I might believe if he was talking about an 06 GS, but why would they switch to a different painting process on the last run of that body style... doesn't make sense. With your logic I should be taking medical advice from the receptionist in my doctors office just because she is an employee of the business.

My mistake it is an '06 but this is also not the only one he has so there goes "the logic." It seems as though they have switched the process in the same model year let alone model run. It's not MY logic it's the mixed messages that have come from many sources that are MUCH larger than you. I'm in no flame contest with you and don't really know why you make me the target as we just have conflicting information from good sources. This guy has had the cars, polished them and got NO color from them. Others have polished them and gotten lots of color from them. I have polished one and gotten a little color from it and my experience happens to go along with the experience of someone else that owns one and gotten little color from polishing. These experiences all add up to cars that are CC, BC/CC and BC with tinted CC.

All the pads i use on my black onyx lexus is300 come out black. When I spot-polish parts of my car (areas including the door hood, roof, trunk) with unused pads with products as mild as p21s paintwork cleanser and vanilla moose, they come out black.

I've worked on a black gs300 and same result.. black pads with vanilla moose.

That is likely to happen. Have you read the whole thread?

Hmm, and here I am interested in getting a new IS300. I'll admit, the black on lexus is DAMN NICE!!!

Should I be worried about a SS paint?

When I do polishing on my girlfriend's black '99 4Runner, I get color transfer. Not sure what that means...could be tinted, could be SS.
