First I would like to thank GTScott for letting us use his garage. I wanted to return the favor by cleaning up his driveway, but I broke my toothbrush after the first few mins. :D

Also thanks to GTScott for doing some of the interior work and a wipedown down of the dust from around the deck lid and hood.

A BIG thanks to Jim (stickman81) for helping out on this one. After we removed the wheels, Jim polished these CCW wheels inside and out, he also polished the exhaust "cans" and pipes. He also cleaned the wheel wells and did most of the interior work. His effort really showed! :up

This Torchred Z06 had been wet sanded approx 2 yrs ago to remove the orange peel.

It did not look that bad:

But seeing it "in the light" revealed some defects:

QEW wash-clay-wash.

Here is what the claybar looked like after:

Wheels removed from the car.

Then Jim did his part:

Polished with Blue magic and a powerball on the insides, most of the front face of the wheels where done by hand.

Followed up the front face of each with NXT polish by hand.

Exhaust cans and pipes polished with blue magic by hand.

Tires got Zaino Z-16 x2

Being that the car had been wetsanded I was very apprehensive on my attempts to try and remove some of the defects with out risking damage to the clear coat.

I tried the following:

106ff green P2 pad rotary 1500

106ff White LC pad 1500

EC/OP mix White LC pad 1500

The EC/OP mix w/ the white LC pad removed 60-70% of the defects. I am sure I could of got most of (80%+) the defects out with the same product and a yellow LC pad. But after talking to the owner we decided that in the interest of a healthy clearcoat on a wetsanded car, I would stop after the White LC pad.

I then finished with the following steps:

106FF and a green P2 pad

50/50 wipedown

3X of Z5pro

Z8

The interior got a 1:10 APC wipedown.

Leather got Zaino Z-10

Trim got 303.

Tinted glass got Plexus

Exterior Glass got PB Sealant w/ Carnuba (thanks Scott)

Thanks Patrick! I love finishing up with 106ff and your Propel P2 green pad. :up

The car looks great Bryan.

Thanks for the opportunity to help out yesterday.

Looking forward to the interior shots so I can see what I might have missed.:scared:

Sorry for the late reply, I was busy watching my team get smacked down all weekend. Here are some interior shots, a tad out of focus for some reason.

GT, Thanks again for use of your facility and for the help on the car.

I added some pics to the 2nd post of the excellent polishing job that Jim did on the wheels and pipes.

Thanks to everyone else for your kind words.

Great job Bryan and Stickman. :bow

Doing the same thing with my new to me 2004 M. Yellow Z06 (2800 miles).

I have a few months to do what you guys did in a day. My starting point is alot less work. Paint only needs mild paint cleansing (Z-PC) (non-marring) and light claying. :spot

Great work!!!!! :xyxthumbs

Thanks Lee and blkZ28Conv! Black Z you should have the MY paint looking great in no time. The stock tips on the Ti catback polish up real nice too.

Wow, that car looks awesome.

Is that a fog light button I see there???

Stock switch from a coupe or vert and PIAA 1100X driving lights.

Here is how they looked on my old Z06:

They are alot brighter then the stock fog lights.

A big improvement for the stock headlights which are poor.

You've just defined a new color 'Reference Red'. :shocked

Jezus H! Cops patrolling in another zip code will spot that thing!

Great work guys.
