*** TWO POST DETAIL ***

One of my buddies who knew I detailed but didn't realize how much passion I had for it asked me to help him out in detailing his car. I had seen the condition he unfortunately kept the interior - with family dog etc...and so was up for a challenge.

Some before notes:

  • Car had never been detailing except from the dealer
  • Car has not been waxed for over 5 years
  • Car has never been clayed
  • Car is not regularly maintained and sees a dog on a regular basis (shepard/border collie mix)
  • Did not do a full correction because of time constraints and because he did not want to
  • Really just wanted to bring back the shine
So, because of mother nature not co-operating with us, I didn't get a lot of good before shots. The car does have swirls but since we weren't going for a full correction here I took as best shots as I could. We did manage to make a huge difference though as you will see.

The end results were really good. My buddy was extremely happy and that makes me happy. The car has made a huge change from when it came in. Just washing it properly you could see a change and difference already. And now for the write up.

Now here are the pics for you.

Some rust spots. Tried my best to capture them!!! Seemed like rust overspray.

Clayed and this is what it looked like!!!

IMG_0869.jpg

Washed the car, clayed and brought the car inside. I just made it before it started to rain so I have no shots of post wash or clay. I was very lucky!!! Once inside, the car was dried and I took a look at the interior!!!

Dog hair, dog hair and more dog hair!!!

And then just junk and garbage.

Took a look at the paint and decided to hit it with Ultimate Compound. I didn't have the time and this is what my buddy wanted. On top, he had to work. In the end the results were awesome. I found some nice bird etching that I took care of with the Rotary and Ultimate Compound. Took two passes.

Tried to capture the after shots but it just wasn't working so well. But believe me when I say they're gone. After this, I took a look at his lights as he said they just weren't as bright as they used to be. Looking at them I noticed why.

After one pass of Plast-X and a 4" LC White Pad and the PC I came up with this.

After two or three passes I came up with this.

Noticed his plastic molding on his front bumper was looking old and awful and knew just the product for it.

So out came Black WOW!!!

The only exterior shot we got as we were short on time and pushing the weather!!! We came a long way. From no reflection to a reflection.

The car was in rough shape as my notes state. He left extremely happy and promised to maintain from here on out.

Thanks guys.

I think it turned out good considering what it was.

Great work...I dread when ever someone tells me this is their dogs car...

:wall

I don't get it myself, but then I also understand as I'm a huge dog guy just my dog doesn't shed.
