This car was an exterior only job.
Time: Total time took about 4.5 hours for wash, clay, polish, 2nd stage polish and wax.
History: This car is driven mostly in the city, not many highway miles, was waxed ONCE in it's lifetime, been washed twice in it's lifetime (by me) and was also serviced regularly. I FINALLY got it in for some sort of a detail job.
This car is a typical "parked on the street in Chicago" car, thus has several dings, scrapes and dents over the past 6 or so years. Owner knows that, I'm just here for working to "make it look better."
Process:
1. Wash with Meguiars Gold Class
2. Clay using Pinnacle Poly-clay
3. Stage 1 polish using Meguiars #83
4. Stage 2 polish using Meguairs #81/Optimum Polish mix
5. Waxed using P21S
All polish is done by machine and all wax applied by hand.
Before wash:
After wash:
Notice the "lack of" wax on the finish. The car is still wet in this picture!!!!
Dents, scrapes
Weird marks
Obviously, the car needed claying. Here's my two claybars after the clay:
I actually think the layer of crap somewhat protected the paint, as the swirls aren't "that" bad.

Hood before (baked in bird poop):
Hood after:
Much of the car was the same, but it wasn't too bad.
Before (notice how the paint looks dull):
After:
Completed:
Overall, took less time than I thought. Pretty pleased with the results.
Nothing like a few good beads for satisfaction:
