2000 300m meets bufferbarry

Did the car change hands and the new owner thought it would be cheaper to restore the car rather than just getting another car? While the the work you did is some of the best I've seen, I don't understand how someone could justify spending $2k-4k on a resto of a 9 year old Chrysler? See what I mean? Someone with more 'cents' then brains?

Seriously, I thought only the luxury /exotic car owners would pay that price.

People drop their jaw when I tell them $200!!!:sosad

Great work - that's what I like about this site, I've never seen anyone sand leather - it obviously works.

Excellent work Barry! I think I will remain a hack detailer (select group of client, friends) for now because your craftsmanship is beyond reproach.

you missed a spot! lol.

Great job on the car! That's brave of you to use 1000 grit on the whole car like that, looks awesome!!!

Awesome turn-around, but can we get some after pics that aren't re-touched. I think you went a little over board with the contrast adjustment...

I hope you charged them A LOT of money, you put in some serious time and effort there!

Max effort Barry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there a few who will sand with 1000 grit and then correct big cajones my friend, love the dismount on the wheels as that was the only fix for wheels that bad.

Not a detail, but a low grade restoration:shocked

i just redyed the leather im still working on the whole filling process. i get it down soon enough though i been practicing it for a while now.

sanding leather actually removes the cracks and makes it smooth again. you can see i only used 800 grit this keep the leather still aged looking but refinished. i have gone as low as 400 to remove some cracks! and yes it works lol thank you!

How many labor hours did you spend on this project? Care to disclose how much you charged Mr. Chrysler? I'd really like to know.

the labor hours were roughly 50 to 55 hours i did this car over time while doing other work! the total charge was 90 a panel for the paint correction. i gave the bumpers for free the leather dye was 100 for all three. and the interior was charge was 120! you do the math and if your wondering why i charged per panel is because when wetsanding a car i found for me its the safiest way to go! i usally charge by estimate but when i pick up 100o grit and start sanding its not about time its about not making mistakes. one little pebble it 1000 grit can kill a panel so i charge per panel. this way there are no disputes as per say a man who charges by the hour!

Barry, I had to read this thread twice over because I just couldn't beleive my eyes the first time around! :shocked

Another incredible turn around! No doubt that 300M looks better than the day it rolled off the assembly line!

What did your client have to say when you delivered his NEW car?

Holy crap!! The customer had to have said that was the cheapest he ever paid for a NEW car amirite? My god was that interior disgusting how could anyone drive around in that.

Amazing job!!

Holy Crap!! That looks amazing, i'm suprised that the car didn't have any clear coat failure, it is very common on those cars around here.
