hmm i guess i wont know then, i dont plan on blowing that much money unless its for a viper. otherwise my next car plan is a 02 trans-am with a custom twin turbo set up..

Viper MSRP > M3 MSRP.

M3 is a track car, not as much a straight line neck breaker like a F/I F-Bod ;)

yeah the m3 is about 55k brand new, but u can get a preowned viper with like 2,000 miles on it for that same price, who cares if its not brand new, i dont. but yeah i can prolly make a 10 second or lower quarter mile car with a F/I f-bod, for like half that price.

Some people are way too narrow minded for their own good. Throw in the fact that these people have zero experience with the car they're bashing and it just gets under my skin. There's much more to driving a car than going fast in a straight line OR on a track. The connectedness you feel with the machine behind the wheel of an M3 is worth the price of admission. Everything meshes well together.. it's a finely tuned machine, brought to the market by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Everything you touch has a feel or purpose... like thorough consideration was given to make that particaluar piece you're touching work well with the rest of the car. I get so tired of hearing about what cars people would put such and such mods on and blow the doors off a new car that costs 55K dollars. I could put quad turbos and a flux capacitor on a Yugo and smoke a new M3. So?

Having said that, I have owned an F-Body, and loved it. ;)

/soapbox.

I love the new one. It drives great too!

chris bangle didn't design the new 3 series (e90). Someone else was in charge of the design.

Chris bangle is/was actually the chief of design for the 7 series and I think only the 5 series. Meanign there were many designers under him and he just gave the final "ok"...

People said the same thing about the e46. Said it was to chubby and what not. In a few years, people will begin to say the same thing.

A pro driver I know while at a driving school had several cars to choose from.....a Mustang, a vette, and M3 and a Porsche. He drove them all but really wanted to get behind the Vette (being an owner of a Viper he wanted to compare).

He said that it is just tons of horsepower, raw earth shaking power.....but stinks in the slalom. The nose was too long and over compensation was the downfall.

He now knows why he never bought one (and also why he sold the Viper....not a drivers car) but he has owned the M3 and the Porsche and for driving....hug the corner, slamming thru the gear driving.....nothing beats the Porsche, with the M3 close behind, in his himble opinion.
