I've purchased a few coatings to test side by side but have a question.
What's the point in laying the 2 if the base has a span of 3 up to 5, while the top has a definite 5 year perhaps more?

How can the base make the top layer stronger? as the top layer is what will be exposed/abraided?
Only thing I can see the base doing is perhaps changing the look like how you sometimes top a sealant with a wax..
If the base is only good for 3 and top good for 5... Sounds like they both will fail at 3
