1Z EP = Extra or Express?

It just occurred to me that in a few PMs I've assumed that "EP" meant "Extra Polish" (another name for Ultra, the aggressive stuff) and in others I've assumed it meant "Express Polish" (the much milder stuff that's sorta like MP). Sheesh...I need to be more consistent :o



Thought I'd just post this rather than try to clarify a number of PMs, which would've been tricky since I just cleared out my mailbox! Sorry for any confusion....
 
Yeah, except that "UPP" can also mean 4-Star Ultimate Paint Protection. Sorta inevitable that some of these are gonna clash...

1zUPP=Ultra Paint Polish

1zPP=Paint Polish

1zMP=Metallic Polsih

1zEP=Express Polish

1zWPS=WaxPolish Soft
 
Its now called Extra Paint Polish - just received the new can.



So is Extra Paint Polish still to be called UPP, or move to EPP and avoid confusion with 4* UPP.



UPP = Extra Paint Polish - don't work :down

EPP = Extra Paint Polish :up
 
I stand corrected... After doing a little research, I discovered the following: Einszett has a Shop Line (500ml) and A Pro-Line (1000ml).



The Shop Paintwork & Metal Care Product Line consists of the following:



Glanz Wax (Blue Can) (500 ml)

Metallic PolishWax (Red Can) (500 ml)

Paint Polish (Green Can) (500 ml)

Extra Paintwork Cleaner (Yellow Can) (500 ml)



The Professional Paintwork & Metal Care Product Line consists of the following:



Glanz Wax (Blue Can) (1000 ml)

Waxpolish Soft (Blue/Yellow Can) (1000 ml)

Express Polish (Gray Can) (1000 ml)

Metallic PolishWax (Red Can) (1000 ml)

Paint Polish (Green Can) (1000 ml)

Extra Paintwork Cleaner (Yellow Can) (1000 ml)



Description of Extra Paintwork Cleaner:



If your paintwork is old, heavily oxidized or contains severe blemishes, Extra is the polish for you. A special cutting polish that removes heavy oxidation and reduces swirl marks while restoring depth and gloss. Extra produces a weather-resistant and streak-free finish. Special silicone ensures a long-lasting shine. Not recommended for use on new cars with clear coat. Follow up with einszett Glanz Wax for added protection. Application: For very dull, oxidized paintwork with deep swirl marks. Not for use on clear coats.



Einszett Abbreviations:



Waxpolish Soft = WPS

Express Polish = EP

Metallic PolishWax = MP

Paint Polish = PP

Extra Paintwork Cleaner = EPC
 
Well, the "Extra" name should make things a little simpler. And using "1Z" as a prefix is probably worth the extra keystrokes too.



Heh heh, I dunno about the "official" line on Extra though. It works fine on "new" b/c paint, it'll remove stuff from Audi clear that PP won't touch. But it leaves so much micromarring (not so micro, IMO) that the idea of just topping it with GW instead of using another, milder polish just makes me :rolleyes:
 
Achtung!

I just received the 1Z trio bundle that Detailers Paradise sells. Like dternst said, the 500 ml yellow can is now named "Extra Paint Cleaner", instead of "Ultra Paint Polish", also in yellow. Boy is this stuff gritty?



New acronym: EPC?



I have been a 3M SMR and Megs No. 9 user, so I am looking forward to working with these 1Z products. Each can came with a little plastic applicator bottle. This is an answer to that metal can gripe we see so often. :up
