1Z Einszett Anti-Frost Washer Fluid Quick Review

I had picked up a bottle of this product from a local guy selling out his stock since he was giving a good price for it. I have seen it but it sells for $8.99 for 1 litre (about 34 ounces) so definitely a bit more than the less expensive ready to use stuff given the dilution for 7 F is 1:2.

Autopia Car Care's web site shows the mixing ration as 1:1 equal -5 F but the bottle labels say 1:1 is -15 F so better.

I ended up mixing some at 1:2 for testing initially.

Scent: If you know the scent of 1z Cockpit Premium it has a somewhat similar scent that you immediately detect. You can even smell it when inside the car and activating the windshield washers !!

Cleaning/Bugs: Very good to excellent. It makes an immediate difference over the cheaper stuff I have been using. It is labeled more as a deicer than a cleaner but it worked well.

I also took some and just added some to some cheap stuff to see what it would like a booster and it also improved the cleaning performance.

Anti-frost properties I did not even try to test this.

Summary: Excellent product but obviously not very cost effective for the price using it per directions. However, if you a car that you do not drive often or do not use the washer function it may not end up nearly as much of an impact if you constantly used it like during the winter or bug season.

This actually made me conscious of how much washer fluid I use and realize that 3 quarts actually would last a long time for me in 3 different vehicles - 6 months or so. But it would take 2 bottles to fill the reservoirs completely up.

If you are looking for something to bump an order to get free shipping, you could splurge on something like this. It is definitely something you can use as opposed to some product that just may sit on the shelf for a long time.

1z also makes a wash concentrate (1:100) but does not offer any protection from freezing. This product may be more appropriate as a wash booster.

I previously experimented with PoorBoy's Bug Squash in the reservior (a few ounces) but I really could not tell that much difference.

Nice review. I have always wondering how well the Anti-Forst formula worked.

I have the 1Z Einszett Kristall Klar Washer Fluid Concentrate. It is nice because it takes up very little shelf space. The product works very good too. When I clean family cars I top off their fluid in the summer with it.

Thanks for the review. I've always been curious about higher end washer fluids like that for my daily. Never bothered to use anything more fancy than Rain-X. My garage queens I've owned over the years on the other hand I like to play a bit of a game where I see how long I can go without ever using the wipers or washer fluid at all. So far a bit over 4yrs is my max, sold the car before I ever used the wipers haha.

Thanks for the review. I have a small collection of boutique windshield washer fluids from 2012 that I have have yet to get around to trying: 1Z Anti Frost and Kristall Klar plus P21S Windshield Wash Booster. I think the fluid tank in one of our vehicles is close to empty so this is a good reminder to start trying them. I have a fresh coat of Gtechniq G1 on the vehicle I'll probably use it on first so I'll see how well they play together. I believe SONAX makes some windshield washer fluids too but I don't think SONAX USA has brought them in to the US,

Nice review Al.

I started buying the gallon jugs of the anti frost cheap washer fluid after winter ($1.00 @ 1 gal) and the add some 1Z Einszett Windshield Wash Booster. It seams to work great and we haven't had any freezing problems.

I have almost always bought the cheapest stuff (usually $1 to $2). I just did no realize it could get better. I like the way it lets the wiper move easier across the glass.
