1st HD SPEED Detail

The owner of this Infinity found me here on Autopia. This was the "test" car to see if I am good enough to do his other car which is a 1969? Camaro in red.

I love this color because I couldn't find any swirls, and the car is an '08. :hail::hail::hail:

I thought that this color and condition was perfect for HD SPEED. The wet look and sharp reflections that it left behind is just awesome. I used a white pad to do the job. Worked well.

*** if you have any question about the product, just post it here and I'll answer it for you.

The car sits out 24/7 so I used #1000, as it is my most durable LSP outside of Opti Coat. I wash I could have used Poxy. What a look it would have produced! :D (Next time)

Here is the car before I started the interior. Even though it was really dirty, it still looks good from 10 feet.

Once the exterior was clean, I started polishing the paint.

The amount of product I used on the hood. The LC white pad is pretty stiff and it can burn up the product much faster than a soft pad so I always use more with this pad.

Once the car was done with HD SPEED, I pulled it out for a few shots to show what it looks like on the car.

very nice thomas, is the application as easy as some of the other AIO's you've used. also and maybe this may or may have not been covered, does the new HD products use DAT or SMAT?

I appreciate the kind replies.

No curing time. Put what ever you want on top of it. Very easy product to work with. Wipes off very easy. No oily residue.

I should really use a tripod, I tend to shake easy with a camera in my hands, even with stabilization in the lens. :(

BigAl3 - as easy as any AIO. Your other Q, please contact 3D.

Thomas:

Who is the manufacturer and what is model number of the steamer unit that I see in some of the photos?

I assume you've used this on some of those dirt-encrusted trunk drain channels and door jams that are pictured.

And what steamer settings and type of nozzle/attachments do you use to do this?

Hi Lonnie - I use a Daimer steamer. The model is 200 something? You will find it easy on their site. I think it is around $1000-1200.

This time I used the pressure washer to get them clean. Didn't need the steamer for the trunk or jambs. The car is an '08. BUT, on some cars you do use it to get the dirt off. You use the bare nozzle. On the other hand the interior gets steamed every time I detail a car.

Thomas,

Was the working time of HD Speed similar to Uno? How about dusting? I mostly use Optimum GPS for one steps these days. However, I anticipate restocking in a month or so and I am curious about trying out HD speed on a One Step. Sorry to hijack the thread a little. The resuts are incredible, nice wet reflections.

Looks great!

Can you provide us with some details on the application process for Speed? Passes/pressure/direction etc. Thanks!

I would also be interested in this info. Know it depends on the paint, but would be a great starting point.

Speed is as easy to use and apply as a wax. You can go slow and low speed with a finishing/polishing pad or yellow/MF/wool pad and high speeds. The look itself is worth the price. Durability? Not known yet but either top it with your favorite LSP or apply it often. Comes off very easy. Doesn't leave any oily residue.

That is very paint condition dependent. I'd say that SPEED is the easiest non wax product you will use
