Hi! After spending a month or so reading this site back to front and pickng up all the tips i could, i ordered my PC and products did my first detail on my Red MR2.

The guy who had it before me made a real mess of the car with t-cut (as you can see from the pics below)

So last Sunday I set about detailing my car, all in it took me about 7hrs the swirls were really bad and needed quite a few passes to get rid of them!

These are the steps i took:

1. washed the car using a sheepskin mit and the two bucket method

2. clay bar with the blue clay magic bar

2. Klasse all in one

3. SSR 2.5

4. #80

5. ClearKote Vanilla moose hand glaze

6. Nattys blue wax

The car is 12 years old and is my daily driver so took a lot of work to get it to that.

Im going to cut it further as there are still a few blemishes that im not too happy with, but im very happy with the overall job.

great work man!

You are right he didn't take care of the paint. Isn't it nice to be able to get rid of years of abuse in a few hours? The satisfaction is the best part!

thanks for all the comments guys!

klnyc - I spent about 7ish hours, i'd say 2 of those were getting used to handling the PC

twitch - very satisfying getting rid of the years of t-cut abuse, really pleased with the results!

Only problem is I can't stop looking at the car!!!

Truly looks great!

What pads did you use to get rid of those swirls? I'm thinking of buying the DAS kit for the PC soon.

s14roller - i used the lake county yellow cutting pad, its got a variable contact surface which is pretty handy when working on really bad areas, Its an inverse bowl shape so the outer edge of the pad is raised and you can really work it on problem areas.

Been new to the whole detailing world its my only experience of cutting pads so I have no real bench mark, but it handled the job pretty well!

Has anyone used those new sonus pads with the grooves in?
