1999 Ferrari F-550 Detail & Correction

Recently completed, the vehicle is one of my favorite cars of all time......as I fit easily(Compared to a 355 etc..) and the look is classic with big power and unique as to see one on the road or a current model 599 is rare.

More rare is the color (Grigio Ingrid/sabbia) as I had a client with a 599 in (Grigio Ingrid/brown) and that client to this day kicks himself for selling that car.

The vehicle had not been corrected in quite a long time and it showed some "Patina", thus a thorough decon/clay was needed, along with a light compound on most of the vehicle and some aggressive correction on other body panels.

As the car arrived....

Heavy overspray on the left front side of the car(Customer would later own up to using black spray paint in the vicinity lol).

Wax applied by "Helen Keller Auto Detailing"......

Scratches in a place you least want them, on the thin crease of the fender.

Gloss & clarity restored.

Right side mirror housing also had "Wax" applied to it, so cleaning was required to bring back the correct matte finish.

Nice view in the shop late at night.

Dirty interior.

Removing lint on the felt door seals.

092.jpg

Unknown substance on the carpet for who knows how long(Dry & crusty).

093.jpg

Loosened it with steam and sanitized the area as well.

094.jpg

Some fine brush work into the crevices.

After interior pics.

This pic shows the slight diffused sheen of the dressing as opposed to "Greasy/shiny".

Great work Bob. The 550 IMO is so much better looking than the 599 (not to say the 599 isn't a great looking car, just prefer the 550/575). Classic Ferrari power and lines. Great work (as usual)!

Lovely car and caring work!

Might I propose (in all good intention) that you change the way you hide the plates in the photos? I think it distracts from the nicely pictured results.

Bob great work man. Excellant attention to detail for sure as always.

One question for ya. That light setup you have with the yellow base. Are those t5's in it? Always wanted to ask. Just looks like such a usefull light.

Even though we talked today Barry, the lights are T8 high output lights in case anyone else wanted to know.

I will take that under advisement, it is to keep the plate off the web.

Have you ever thought of having an Auto Concierge plate made to put over the customer's plate for photos?

And again.. nice work!

I have......but I did not want to be a "Me too" guy ...lol. I think I will utilize a different obscuring mode on photobucket, as they also have the squish down effect in addition to the "Quantum singularity" swirl effect.

Another option would be just leaving the plate off while taking after pictures (assuming the plate is removed for the detail). Nonetheless, looks fantastic.

Nice presentation of images. I almost spit on my screen when I saw the Helen Keller wax application! LOL! Great job.
