1999 Acura Integra

Detailed the outside friday afternoon but started too late - my buddy showed up an hour late for his free detail.

I wanted to really polish out the paint but it would have taken more time then I had day light.

I washed the car, then I used the remaing soapy water to clay the car. Interestingly, the passanger side was so dirty, while the driver's side contained very little dirt. Bumper was very bad as well. The paint was very 'dry'. I don't think it had one inch of protection on it, although he says he used Meguiar's gold class wax on it. I didn't bother asking for the **last time**

After drying the whole car I started removing a few deep screthes with ssr 2.5 with a yellow pad pumped up to 6 on the passanger side. Unfortunately it started to get darker so I stopped. (He was very surprised that the "big" scretch that his girlfriend keyed into the paint was gone.)

BTW, since he is selling the car in about 2 months, he just wanted to make the paint look shiny.

Then I decided to use AMINO UV cleaner polish ( I think the company is gone) with a white polishing pad on 6. I really like how slick this polish makes the paint. For extra protection on the front bumper I used PwC. Applied to the whole car then removed it miwh 2 MF gloves.

Next came AMINO UV Polimer Wax via gray pad on 4. Waited 30 minutes and removed it with a MF towel. By this time it was after 9:00pm so I had to remove the wax in the dark. I only missed a 2" spot on the right rear lower panel. :D

Used AA on the tires.

Parked the car and he came to get the key around 11:00pm (he lives around the corner from me).

I told him about how I couldn't do all the steps tonight and that I wanted to redo everything. His response: Man, I have had this car for 5 years and I've never seen it this shiny!

But I talked him into letting me put on another coat of AMINO UV wax and a coat of Natty's :D

I was going to take pictures next morning but we had a little rain.

So this morning he brought the car over and I Q&EWd the car.

Added another coat of Amino UV wax with the PC on 4 to the whole car & left it on for 15 minutes.

Wiped it off with another MF glove.

Then I took a Meg's yellow foam pad and sprayed it with Clearkote's Quick shine a couple of times - the only time.

I applied a fairly thin coat on Natty's to the whole car and waited some time before wiping it off. It is a pretty easy wax to apply.

Removal was very easy too. I used a MF towel.

Lastly I went over the car with a MF towel and Quick shine to make sure that I didn't leave any residue.

The tires received another coat of AA.

So here are the after pictures.

NOTE: the paint had vey few cobwebs. You really have to look for them. Worst is the roof but even that is light.

I maybe posting too many pictures - if I am... I am sorry. I also didn't have the keys so had to take them in the parking lot where I take most pictures :D The first set were taken around 11:30am.

I had a couple of massage appointments and couldn't get home early enough and the sun was gone. *6:30pm. Hope you like!

The car has a carbon fiber hood.

Awesome work!

Nice to see another teg :)

That tailpipe needs some TLC :lol

How do you like the Amino sealant? Hard to use?

Once again...looks reallllly good!

thanks guys!

carcrazy22 - The Amino UV really darkens paint.

Sean - Amino UV is as easy to work with as anything I have ever tried. In fact if I can somehow, I will get more of those 2 products.

So if anyone reading this post and wants to get rid of their used AMINOUV products, email me. I'll buy them.

I will be putting Natty's tomorrow on the green Miata from last week. So it will be an all PB car. I think the Miata with all PB looks much wetter.

How did I end up with different size pictures?

Man, for the first time I tried "normal", "fine" and "superfine" compressions - I guess that is why!

This is my favorite picture and ends up being tiny. My luck :down

Thanks very much Scott! Yes I agree with you - it is a nice car indeed. It has 60000 miles on it. You can't see it in any of the pictures, but it has hail damage all over the car. He kept the insurance money...

great work tdekany! just wanted to let you know that the amino uv is still around. i use it too and think its great stuff. i'll have someone post specifics on getting more amino uv later.

thanks macfan

their website is down, the e mails come back - do you have some updated info for me?

yeah....one of my buddies has the info and he is going to post it later on when he gets a chance. from what i understand, the company is in fl. and they had their web server set up somewhere down there and it went down because of all the hurricanes. the company is setting up the website with another host company in the midwest or something so its taking some time but they should be up eventually. keep an eye out for a post from 04mysticcobra. he'll have the specifics for you.

tdekany,

Like Macfan said the website went down and Matt is having it redone with another hosting company and it should be up soon. I spoke to Matt last week and he filled me in on that information. In the meantime if you need product you can reach him at 1-866-4-Amino-UV. Its quite unfortunate what happened here with the Amino products and the Spamming that went on by a certain individual. I was using the polymer wax before all that happened and now I have the resto-cleaner and their auto wash. all of their products are very easy to use and I am completely satisfied with the results. the longevity of the polymer wax is a plus too. the owner Matt Gregg has always been great to me when I have spoken to him and his customer service is excellent.

Later, 04MysticCobra.
